Phantom pwnt Dantarion (New Custom SSS + Custom Stage ID Engine Thingy)

2 questions. If you save a replay when using this code, does the replay know to use the _A.pac/_B.pac/etc. that was playing during the match? That would make a difference if you used the code to play stages with different collision data, because it would desynch if the wrong pac was chosen. Also, does this work with with PW's STGCUSTOM stages?

Replays work fine with PWs stages. This code...well there are no ideas listed for the nine additional stages so I'm pretty sure it can't be done.

And no, replays don't know which stage to pick. I THINK button acitvators work for replays...but it randomly selects whatever it wants much like stage selection if you have random textures.

It should work.
I've had all those codes on and they did not work. Something is wrong with my ASL code.
Edit: I finally got it working. I had to put more stages and it loaded. My guess is since there weren't enough stages (only had one) and I had it so the original stage could load, it kept loading the original stage because it would load that 9 times out of 10, since I only had one.
Having fun with it (the stage where you play as Snake, Lucario and MetaKnight, I think it is) using a Naruto PSA which is pretty good, if I might add

To add to that, the random textures work on wifi, but different people can get different stages, and since stages can be edited, that can pose as a problem that causes desynching...

Also, nobody answered my questions about the stages that share ASCII datas. How do I put different textures on Mushroomy Kingdown 1-1 and 1-2 when they have THE EXACT SAME ASCII data?

I don't think you can. They each have to have the same # of randoms and button activators coz of the way it's setup.

Mushroomy Kingdom 1-1 and 1-2 are treated as one stage.

If you use this code for them and desire to have three random textures for 1-1, and two for 1-2, then you can with no problem. Button activators also work.

Actually, changing the Icon IDs didn't work for me. I wanted to change them because i didn't like those stages with only FD and BF icons, it doesn't look pretty lol. But, when i tried to change them, they still show up as FD and BF, so i'm guessing is a the "stage expansion system" code limitation, and i'm sure i did it well, but i need to someone to tell me if it's really a code bug or something instead of me or any other aspect regarding to me or my Wii.
I wonder if i can get music selection changed instead of always hearing BF ones, but i think PW sayed it was impossible, did he? However it would be awesome for stages like Hyrule Temple 2D where i would like to hear Zelda music for example :3

The red ones are what you must change for changing icons (01=battlefield, 02=final destination)

About the music, you should try or ask someone to make a temple or eldin version of hyrule castle instead of WWR, if don't find someone who help you, I could try it

This way you would enter into one of these zelda stages and hyrule castle would show up (using a button combination), and the music would be from zelda games

But the code would be wrong as it has to be in hex

So 59 (pokemon stadium) is 3B in hex, 60 (an already existing icon) would be 3C, 61=3D, windows calculator is an easy way to obtain the hex numbers

Ok...I tried it again. Turns out, I was importing the images wrong and it caused freezing. Unfortunately it doesnt work still. It just loads pokemon stadium icon if you use a number higher than 59(or 3b).

Ive decided to just change the preview image to say which icons go to which stage.



Maybe someone can come up with something better.

Weird, i did it exactly like that, using the icons IDs and for some reason it still showed up BF and FD, i will try again, but i'm sure i did it like that, pretty easy, thats exactly why i thought it was a code bug or something like that, anyway i'm trying again and i will post results and the code.
About the Hyrule thing, i'm pretty sure is not that, first of all that stage is replaced with WWR, but it loads the BF music selection, and PW already sayed it would always show up that music selection, so it's the code right now, at least he thinks so. But i'm talking about loading that stage using the SSS expansion code with the Custom SSS, that's the reason why it loads that music. Making a Eldin or Temple version of that stage would work if loaded with Alternate File Loader or File Patch or both, but it will still show up BF music when using SSS codes sadly T_T.
And about making a different stage version, porting it to Eldin would be great, i never use that stage so it would be nice to have it there :p. f you do it i would be really thankful, but if you don't mind, i'm kindf of shy to ask you to do that :S, wouldn't that be a problem or something? If not, it would be really cool :p Very kind of your part too ^^

A thought on the music --

I've been browsing the forums for a while, looking for some discussion over the possibility of increasing the amount of songs on each stage (instead of some stages having like.. 15 songs, and some having 3, it'd be great if they all could have the max # of songs), and a thought occurred.

If I understand correctly, this code functions like the file replacement code in that it loads FILE.pac from the SD card instead of the Wii, but then it also adds a letter before the file extension -- FILE_A.pac, FILE_B.pac.

Currently, this code applies only to stage pacs, I assume (though I'm not sure how it differentiates between stage file loading and other file loading). Couldn't it be modified to also work on music files?

Example:
stgonlinetraining.pac uses X07.brstm
stgonlinetraining_A.pac uses X07.brstm
stgonlinetraining_B.pac uses X07.brstm

Could we modify this so that
stgonlinetraining_A.pac uses X07_A.brstm
stgonlinetraining_B.pac uses X07_B.brstm
etc...

It's not an ideal solution -- ideally we could just increase the size of the Wifi Room's My Music selection from 1 song to about 100 -- but it is an interim solution.

What do you think? Can this be done?

The stage replacement code was done from another more generic, but that doesn't work fine. I'm always thinking that a greater replacement code could be done from the stage one, but it should be dantarion who did it as he created the stage one, which works really fine

just out of curiosity, what would happen if I replaced as texture on a stage that is being replaced by another code?.

Like, if I put a stage texture for replacing hyrule temple, but hyrule temple itself is replaced by an SSE stage. The texture would simply not work right?

Be careful as it's the same thing for all 9 extra stages, and STGCUSTOMX.pac won't be used again. If you make a code for 5 CUSTOM1 and STGCUSTOM1_E.pac doesn't exist, it will freeze as it won't be able to load STGCUSTOM1.pac from the game. And if you have that code for 5 CUSTOMS, you should have STGCUSTOM(1-9)_(A-E), all of them, to be sure it won't freeze in any case

And here's the code to enable the extra stages for random. I considered setting up a code to allow you to specifically define which ones to enable/disable, but there weren't very many bits available aside from the ones already used by the normal stages.

This doesn't work. When I click random I can now get the custom stages but all the other maps in the game are also enabled and I can't turn some of them off.
