Pichu as a viable tournament character.

Let me explain something to all of yall pichu fanatics that keep giving advice to Lil Andy.

Pichu is a BAD character compared to the rest of the cast. You can't win matches by knowing character matchups like you can with other characters, because Pichu just does not have the advantage.

If you look at smash as a character vs character game then Pichu will never have any hope of winning.

Lil Andy looks at smash as a player vs player game and focuses on exploiting the individual players weaknesses. Thats how he wins matches...

The feeling is mutual sir. Twas a good time. Your insight while we were watching matches was awesome, and it was hilarious watching you get $$$ thru sidebets. That kid must've been tight.

well of course its player vs player...
its ALWAYS player vs player.

But knowing a few things you can do against certain characters makes it easier than knowing nothing about the matchup.

S0FT I've seen a number of people in the falco boards claim that Pichu vs. Icies is UNWINNABLE. In particular, some canadian player named Unknown who ALSO claimed he's the best pichu in the world.

Thoughts?

the falcon MU makes me mad because if you get grabbed you die .-.
also pichu's techroll is so bad that falcon just ***** him once he's on the ground.

well, if you get a grab, you can get a ton of percent on falcon.
Chaingrabs up to killing percent.
Easy gimps.
Funny nair and uair combos.

problem is that he can chain grab pichu too... and then kill him with a knee at like 40%...
and his dthrow combos into knee...

its a hard match up, but idk if its close to his worst...
Sheik is pretty hard. Marth too.

PAL sheik can't chaingrab very well right?
yea... NTSC sheik has 0-death on pichu... but pichu dies pretty fast, so thats really not that hard...
Falcon can 0-death pichu too.

but really, I think that Pichu can just do more to punish falcon than he can marth or sheik.
Their weight is not optimum for combos or anything and their recoveries are a little harder to gimp than falcon's.
Pichu doesn't really have a chaingrab on them (except fthrow pseudo chainthrow and maybe dthrow at mid-percent).

Pichu also has a lot of trouble getting through marth and sheik's defense.

I hate the Marth MU... Sheik Im actually okay with, I find its a lot like the Falcon MU in terms of the **** or be ***** concept...

Whenever I play a falcon as Pichu, I just ban large stages and try to get them above me(falling Uairs work great). Once above, just juggle like an ******* then up smash. Plus theres nair and all those gimps... I like dair gimping... dunno why...

Also Aesir, if we ever attend a tournament(come to Impulse or Zenith, Impulse prefered) I wanna play you in Pichu dittos

Actually.. anyone wanna ditto?

Only dittos I've ever done poorly in was against Unknown and that was a 2 stock... XD

ew I hate pichu dittos. I always lose :S

anyway, I'd play a few if we're ever at the same tourney, I won't be traveling out of Ohio for awhile though .-.

for falcon I actually prefer large stages.
Specifically FD.
Dreamland is good too.

I hate the large stages because I find its easier for them to grab me XD

Also, If ohio ever hosts a large tournament, let me know, I might go. Trying to get more OoC tournaments in :p

Ohio has very few large tournaments.
Me and a few other NEOH tournament organizers were talking about eventually getting together and trying to host a decent sized one.
Kage also said he was considering coming down to the one I'm hosting on April 28th, but that is a small local tourney and probably would be worth coming down for (unless you are kage and win all your money back)

I do like uair.
I like nair more though.

My Pichu is better at horizontal combos.
I still like uair a lot though.

ICG does know that... <_<

also, nair combos into dtilt, which is awesome.

And I did pree good with my Pichu at a tourney i went to yesterday.
took a few stocks off the Lake's zelda.
took a few stocks off vudujin's weegee.
almost took a stock off of Silentswag's sheik in a crew battle.
and I beat a few people too, which was pretty cool.
Almost beat Lon and Silentswag in doubles.
