I know I probably missed a good weekly but yo, the concert was off the hook. And it was worth it to miss the weekly.

as of now i got Zenith scheduled for Nov 17th.......possibly a monthly tournament. but no need to thank me im just the host. all i ask is that ya listen and actually help out by joining. y have weeklies if no ones gonna join. dam this is not much to ask. until ya can better yourselves and prove to me that ny is even worth keeping alive i'll consider keepin the weeklies or even bi weeklies. but as of now idk.

Yo gg everyone.. i know this may sound repetitive by now, but... yeah people need to actually join these weeklies... I usually suck bunz and I ended up 4th.. you know why? A lot of people didn't join. Granted its a friday night.. people have stuff to do and all that but i mean.. there were MAD people there.. I'm willing to just say there weren't that many people b/c of the crew battles, but i mean.. everyone just definitely ignored the actual tournament at hand. There were like a total of what? 13? 14 people??

Granted I finished 4th, it's the worst 4th i've ever gotten.
No one entered. This 4th is such a serious joke.

Also NY step it up in teams... I'm busting my *** out in LI with everyone trying to get tight in teams, only to see that theres only 8 teams playing. It's ridiculous.

I used to look forward to weeklies ALL THE TIME during the summer, because MAD people would come through. The matches would be tight, and there would be a lotta fun. Now I'm just feeling like wow right when I'm getting mad hype about the smash scene, its like absolutely dead.

Make the weeklies Bi-weeklies or like.. a weekly at the beginning of the month or 2nd week of every month and then the next one would be a zenith on the last saturday/sunday of the month or whatever.

Bottom line, people need to try harder.

About the weeklies losing people and interest...

You guys have to remember. That alot of people that used to come to the weeklies are now either working or have school since it is no longer summer...so you can't expect people to go all the time. Now I understand the whole wasting space/time thingy because that's understandable but you also have to remember that not everyone has 10(as small as that sounds...it adds up) to spend every week. If you really wanna do something good for the weekly...I suggest biweeklies..but ofcourse it's gonna sound stupid to you guys because it's been discussed before, but the whole point or idea would be...the rarer the weeklies..the more special the occasion...the more special the occasion...the more people show up. This might not work for everyone but meh ..

My thing is....why do the weeklies have to be purely about the tournament....I see it as alot more than that, it's also a place where I go to catchup with really cool smashers that I don't usually see everyday. Could you imagine if only the people who enter went to the weeklies? So you like the idea of just 10 people showing up at the weeklies because they're the only ones entering...? First of all...those 10 people will lose interest because nobody is there to witness them play. Part of playing smash is to get known and it's good to have people watch you and cheer you on or w.e in those epic matches. If you're gonna tell the people that go just to hang out with their friends and catchup not to come there goes about 60% of your would-be audience....imagine you play extremely well an do all this amazing stuff but only you, your opponent and like...3-4 people see it. That's just almost not worth it.... but hey that's just me you guys do whatever you want though. I mean..I'm part of the "problem" since I don't attend these weeklies then I guess I can't say sh*t.

Also I want to add... MOST people don't go to tournies for the money. They willingly enter the tournament with the thought that they are not gonna win because "X" person is probably going to win.. What makes epic tournaments so epic..?! Well...it's the people who are going to attend. When people hear Ken is going to a tourney..more people will attend just because of that. If people actually went to win money only the professionals would enter, there would be no n00bs or no mid-level players like me who just go to try my best and have fun.. My point with this is....it may not be such a far-fetched idea to consider lowering the entrance fee since the prize money is mostly not what people enter for.. I' m not sure what the entrance fee is now but I assume it's 10...if you lower it to 5 you'll get the same people and more. Sure the winner gets significantly less prize money but it's not that huge of a deal...is it..? I mean it's not like any of us live off of wininng tournies right.. *cough*

thats tru silven but u also gotta realize that its not just the smash community. w2z as a business has to prosper from these events or else there would be no events. if we lower the entrance fee that means w2z will get less than wat we already get (which btw is a disgrace) and will have to stop the weeklies.

i dont understand this tho. when we first started it was during school......and the prices were 20/20 and we had a lot of ppl attending. then we went ahead and lowered it to 15 and now its lowerd to 10 wat more do u want. and on top of this w2z used to take 50% now they take 40. ppl are just gettin more and more greedy and takin advantage of wat u already have. but ya have to stop and realize that this is not only me. its up to ya to keep the weeklies alive i can only do so much. if ppl lose interest then thats it for weeklies. now they will be bi weeklies and then at the end or middle of a month we will have a Zenith. ill give more info when i have a meeting at work about it.

I got second at this weeklie. am I all hyped about it? no. Why? cause it makes me feel like **** that the only way I can get second or if lucky first is if competition is what it was yesterday and people dont enter ****. I cant recall one time I went to a weeklie and never enter ever since I decided too. The way this weeklie went I more happy about getting 9th all the time then just getting 2nd at one like yesterday. But the matches I had were not easy. every match I lost the first one, then I had to work my way back up to the second and take the third. and they were all close. anyone could have took the win. But I worked my azz off just to get my win. Then I faced bum and his ness. i did not feel too happy with that cause if I beat his ness, its stating that I can only beat him like that. thus that win means ****. But i'll say it was not easy nether. it went to the fith round and we both had one stock left with high damage. it could have been bums game or mine. and somehow I took it. and made it to the finals. it does not make me to happy that it shows this is the only way I can make it to finals. It states that if more would have enter, no one out thier right mind would think I make finals. no one would expect that from a player like me. and to be honest that **** kinda hurts. and competition needs to be like it was yesterday just for me to make it.

But I did work to at least hit second and that was no simple task. so I guess I can some what feel good about that. At least i improved somewhat. But Im not gonna get hyped or happy cause of this. I see no real reason too. Now I'll give quick shout outs and Im done.

Yah..well now that you say W2z takes part of it...I actually overlooked that...so maybe the price can stay. It's fine actually but what about it being bi weekly?

It's good for web2zone because they can have regular fridays for casual gamers that just come to play others games and then smash has it's own 2 weeks out of the month.

Look at it this way...

-The more elongated the wait is for the next weekly..the more the hype will be, therefore more people will come because money matches, challenges, etc will be queued up

-People have more time to allocate more money for the bi-weekly. Therefore, people will actually enter when they come.

There solves your people coming and not entering problem..

-People will actually have enough money to enter both TEAMS and SINGLES... and not just one... imagine a tourney where everyone has enough to do both...it can happen if theres a longer break between tournies.



Now I know that some of you are gonna be worried that your skill will diminish if you don't play competitively every week..that's bull crap. I've taken month long breaks from smash before and came back playing actually BETTER than before, it just takes a minute to get used to the physics and all that again..but hey that's just me. Some people may actually start sucking...which I doubt since everyone in NYC is already too good anyway.. NYC in general will not start sucking so that fear isn't too valid....just because weeklies are more spread out doesn't mean NY in general will start playing like crap. But think about this...even if you keep it weekly...there will be less people there...maybe even less and less (since people are complaining about people coming and not entering) so with so little people..you will eventually lose the hardcore players that go every week because their inspiration or drive will be gone since there isn't a lot of players there.

I want to know what everyone's opinions are on this because I can't be the only one thinking about this... speak up nubs.

I think bi-weeklies will be a good idea. Weeklies are good too, but it seems not a lot is really interested in it. Plus they don't have the money. >>

It would be kinda cool if the tournaments starting going monthlies. But then again thats really long, if it wasn't for the weeklies i wouldn't play this game much. So that means at the end of the month i would probably get recked for being so rusty and stuff. Biweeklies would probably be better, 2 weeks is enough for $10.

It would be kinda cool if the tournaments starting going monthlies. But then again thats really long, if it wasn't for the weeklies i wouldn't play this game much. So that means at the end of the month i would probably get recked for being so rusty and stuff. Biweeklies would probably be better, 2 weeks is enough for $10.

bi-weeklies is prolly the farhtest i would want i to get to,cuz like u said the only reason that i play is for the weeklies otherwise i wouldnt play until mad late in the month.But then against bi-weeklies are mad long to wait for especially when ur dying to play smash.

I'll put this in a simple way you all can understand. If having them every other week sucks for you all. then when weeklies hit as every week, go and enter singles or doubles. And follow orders so things can be done on time. You cant give all these complaints when rules and orders cant be followed. Ace already stated their we would make it bi-weeklies cause of how people dont listen. You bring it upon yourselves. Dont go asking for things when you cant follow what your told. that already kills weeklies and makes it crap. And if this happens and Ya cant play for a month, guess who fault that is. Listen to Ace when he says what needs to be said and done. You people know who you are, and you guys mess it up for the rest of us. Plain and simple.

I dont have much of a problem with that. I think that is fine. I dont go there much. I have other stuff in life to deal with. But I do go there when I have the time and cash. So I go like twice a month just to have enough for these times and life itself. and it gives me time to save up for the next weeklie. I dont really care what it turns out to be. as long as people follow orders and people enter is what really matters. I like to get home at a decent time.....for once....

Monthlies or Biweeklies?

Between monthlies and biweeklies. I would go more on monthlies. I wouldn't mind biweeklies but prefer monthlies. It's like back in the old NYC tournament days at the DA monthlies. Once a month NYC tournaments.

Jay0 - lmao anyway i think they should be bi-weeklies but monthlies are not a bad idea but i always thought that the zenith would turn to monthlies well w/e and vanz thinks so too but its all on ya i actually dont care if it stays weeklies lol even though that wont happen.
