I'm not surprised it takes that long, keep in mind RPGs have the most text of any popular genera. The reason games like Super Mario Galaxy can come out with little-to-no differences in regional release dates is due to the lack of text to translate, other than names and a few speech bubbles here-and-there.

His HP doesn't change still, right?
No but a lot of Pokes hold moves that are super effective against themselves. And seeing as though Ditto also copies any stat changes that were made he can effectively revenge a lot of Pokemon.

Heck you could even use him as a scout to check out your opponents moves.

It's like an investment, one gets better sooner, while one gets better later. That being said, I love me some Encouraged Fire Punches.

Also, hi guys. I'm back. I lurked a little for the past couple days but couldn't think of anything relevant to post. /colleging

So back on topic, I was really surprised when there was nothing but a single image with japanese text on it on the Dream World site. So I couldn't even use google translate to help me. Thankfully, now I know what happened. Seriously, I wonder what nintendo is going to have to do to support additional countries on this website. But man.... crashing on the first day. I guess I can't expect to see any youtube videos of the site...

The Dream World is actually out of commission until October. Sucks, they couldn't even get it working again.

Although, what do they care, this game is a phenomenal hit in Japan.

They should give Rotom-F an ability that's like the Lighting Rod of Flying attacks, where he is immune, sucks in all of these attacks, and it raises his special attack.

Oh wait wrong Rotom. Whichever one is flying type then.

so i got a question about the rotom forms, does anyone know how they will be passed? i remember that you couldnt use the forms in WIFI (which was stupid of nintendo) so how will the keep their forms in black and white? or is there a way to keep them in the 4th generation and use them in wifi?

They keep their forms in B&W, they just lose their Ghost typing and it's replaced by whatever type their special move is.

They'll be passed the same way every other Poke is passed from Gen IV to V, and they can change forms in a similar fashion to how Deoxys changed in Gen IV.

ok cool since i like fan rotom. although they should give fan rotom a different ability since its already a flying type. i just wish i could use his forms in 4th generation other than shoddy battle.

Once they get the Dream World working again, Shandera is gonna be a ridiculous revenger in the game with a Scarf...

Shadow Tag is so stupid on a critter with that much power...

I have a feeling I'm going to have a blast making teams with all the new pokemon this time around. I think I've already thought of three using only the new black and white pokemon and I can easily see myself playing through both games multiple times. With Diamond and Pearl, I didn't like how there was a good chunk of the new "good" pokemon that you couldn't even get until after you beat the Elite Four which kept me from having pokemon like Magmortar and Gallade on my teams.

I got my copy yesterday.

The game is really nice, looks and plays fantastically. I like the new type icons, too. Crisp and distinct.

There are a few speed problems when entering buildings, but overall I'm very impressed. I'd like it if I could understand what's going on better, though. :p

Dream World Shanderaa HAS to be uber. Non-DW Sandy should be just fine in OU.

So, about that Sand Throw CB Doryuuzu... 607atk/550spe. Outruns +natured scarf Zeburaika (base 116). Though, outrunning base 115 should be more than enough. Always threatens incoming pokes with the possibility of Mold Breaker

Doryuuzu @ CB
Sand Throw: Adamant
252 atk, 236 spe, 20 hp
-Earthquake
-Rock Slide
-X-Scissor
-Rapid Spin/Shadow Claw/Toxic

This guy is immune to Toxic and Paralysis, takes 6% from SR, and sports 11 resistances. Rapid Spin lets you bluff support as well as keeping your Mothra/Aakeosu alive. If a ghost comes in, you can just bring in your Encourage Pursuiters. His movepool is a little shallow, but he can still dance, utilize a move called Level Ground - a physical Mud Shot which might be cool if you're using Mold Breaker.

so that using the one who learns hydropump, actually makes Rotom only weak to Grass? since electric weakness is only ground but he has levitate. ****ING AWESOME.

Is immune only to Poison. It can still be Paralyzed via Stun Spore/Glare.
or a attack that has the paralize effect like Body slam, and yet a togekiss with bodyslam just to paralize the ones that he can't T.wave. LOL

First, go to the Gym. You'll see the Gym leader run out and down to the docks. Go to the middle dock to initiate a meeting. Go back to the street with the Gym and you'll see Team Plasma guards standing outside a building. Approach, battle, and make them flee. Then you can challenge the Gym leader and leave.

And guys, knock off the crappy one-liners. If your posts says nothing but 5-10 words, don't post it. I'm going to start infracting, like I'm supposed to. Tried being lenient, but too many people are doing it for the +1. Also, make sure you are using the metagame thread for competitive discussion

Okay, I just got to the kindergarten school in b/w. WHY DO THE TODDLERS HAVE POKEMON? I always thought you needed to be 10 to become a trainer. What about youngsters? Are they also at least 10? Does that make red, gold, etc all 10yr old youngsters? /scarred

What, you didn't notice the hordes of super loli twins and youngster Joey's?

Anyhoo, I'm at the
Ancient Castle
. Gonna get myself a Desukan to replace my Fighting-type.

Not sure if I should spoiler, but I'll do it anyway:

And yet they battle with them? That's still pretty messed up.

Also, Yooteri's Pick Up has only found me 1 nugget so far. I'm at whatsit forest and Yoot was the first mon I caught. Plus, I heard theres a guy in the game that buys nuggets for 2x the normal price so I still haven't sold it yet. Still not training him cuz he loses Pick Up when he evolves. tl;dr: pickup isnt as good as it was 3rd gen...

When you get to this city, the game forces you to go into the Musical Hall and dress up one of your Pokemon...

Yeah I'm pretty sure the 10 year old stuff is for the anime only. I can't remember any mention in the games where it says you have to be 10 to get a Poke.

Does anyone know what to do in Hiun City? I'm there at the moment and have no idea what to do.
There's also a bunch of trainers in one of the buildings, and at the end you can get an Experience Share.

There's a lot to do, but unfortunately I can't tell you everything because I don't entirely understand it.

Here's something from a FAQ about Hiun:
Here we are! Hiun City is the largest city in Isshu and quite possibly the
largest city in the entirety of the Pokemon series. There is so much to do
and so much to see. You can explore the various piers, streets, and buildings
and talk to people. Some of them may give you free items.

Lets take a look at what you can do here:

=EVOLUTION STONES=
The very first pier as you enter the city has a guy who will be giving away a
free evolutionary stone depending on what you choose.

Yanappu - Leaf Stone
Baoppu - Fire Stone
Hiyappu - Water Stone

=BATTLES AND ITEMS=
Go left from PokeCenter and enter the first building with an entrance. When
you're inside, take the elevator to the 47th floor. There are a bunch of
trainers inside.

Businessman - Lv. 19 Dokkora
Office Lady - Lv. 19 Haderia
Office Lady - Lv. 18 Churine, Lv. 18 Monmen
Scientist - Lv. 19 Dangoro
Businessman - Lv. 17 Basurao, Lv. 17 Basurao, Lv. 17 Basurao

There are also a few free items you can get by talking to people, as well as
a Revive on the floor. One of the guys gives you both a Quick Ball and a Timer
Ball while a Scientist gives you a Scope Lens.

When you're done, get back on the elevator to the 55th floor. You can fight
more trainers here:

Businessman - Lv. 20 Koromori
Researcher - Lv. 20 Munna
Scientist - Lv. 20 Kurumiru
Businessman - Lv. 19 Baoppu, Lv. 19 Hiyappu, Lv. 19 Yanappu
Janitor - Lv. 20 Yabukron, Lv. 20 Chillarmy

When you beat the janitor guy, he'll give you the handy EXP. Share. That's
it for this building.

=1ST STREET=

This is the street immediately to the right of the PokeCenter. It's a busy
street with a lot of people, but there are only two buildings you can enter.

The left building has a lady in the lobby who will massage your Pokemon once
a day and raise their happiness. Go into the elevator to the 11th floor and
talk to the Hiker at the bottom of the room. You'll get TM 44 (Rest).

Go to the building on the right side and talk to the girl. She'll show you a
picture of Zorua, which adds it to your PokeDex.

=HIUN CITY PARK=
Travel down any of the streets and you reach a nice little park. There isn't
much here except a guy dancing by the fountain. You can battle him if you talk
to him. All he has is a Lv. 21 Yanappu. After the battle, he'll ask you to
find two other breakdancer guys in other parts of the city. Here are their
locations:

One in the small alleyway - uses a Lv. 21 Hiyappu
One on the pier that's 2nd from the left most side of the city - uses a
Lv. 21 Baoppu.

After you beat both guys, go back to the park and talk to the middle dancer.
He will give you an Amulet Coin as a reward.

=UPPER HIUN CITY=
Exit the park from the north to reach this area. The first building on the
left has a bald old guy who is the Name Rater and will allow you to change
the nicknames of your Pokemon.

Across the street from this building is another one that is quite
interesting. Talk to the man in shades blocking the elevator and he'll move
aside. When you go up to the other floor, you'll be able to meet people who
speak in German, Spanish, and English! One of the girls near the bottom of
the room will give you TM 45 (Attract).

=ALLEY=
Run down this narrow back alley and you'll eventually bump into a shady guy.
He'll give you TM 70 (Flash). There's a small cafe here which sells Lemonade.

=VENDING MACHINES=
Scattered throughout the city are a bunch of vending machines. They sell the
following:

Fresh Water - 200P
Soda Pop - 300P
Lemonade - 350P

Lemonades are pretty much the most cost effective healing items in the entire
game, so buy several of them if you want.

When you're done with all this, you can head to the Gym. It's located at the
left most street in the city. Before you can enter, Cheren will bump into you
and so will Atei. They are headed to the pier, so go and follow them.

You'll meet Belle there as well as a new girl named Iris. They will talk for
a bit when suddenly, a Team Plasma Grunt is seen walking towards the street
where the Gym is. Something must be up, so head over immediately.

Some Plasma Grunts will be gathered at the building near the Gym. When you
confront them, they will battle you.

Team Plasma Grunt - Lv. 17 Meguroko, Lv. 17 Meguroko

This shouldn't be too hard. After you defeat them, they'll flee into the
building. The rest of your group shows up and enters the building as well.
Inside are the Grunts, Geechisu, and two sages. They somehow have a Munna,
which they'll release and give to Belle. After they leave, they'll drop a Smoke
Ball on the floor. Iris will then give you a Yache Berry.

That's it for this scene. You'll finally have a chance to go to the Gym!

------[m][HIUN GYM]------

TRAINERS:
Clown - Lv. 20 Kurumiru, Lv. 20 Futaude
Clown - Lv. 20 Kurumiru, Lv. 20 Ishizumai
Clown - Lv. 21 Kurumiru
Clown - Lv. 20 Futsude, Lv. 20 Kurumiru

This gym is a lot like the inside of a giant beehive. The puzzle basically
involves you going through walls made of thick honey and stepping on some
buttons to lower gates that are blocking other honey walls. Some buttons will
make clowns appear.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------
|GYM LEADER BATTLE |
|---------------------------------------------------------------------------|

Leader Atei
Pokemon:
-Lv. 21 Hoiiga - Bug/Poison
-Lv. 21 Ishizumai - Bug/Rock
-Lv. 23 Hahakurimo - Bug/Grass

Prize: 2880P, Beetle Badge, TM76 - Bug Resistance

His first Pokemon, Hoiiga, has high Defense and Sp. Defense, but rather low
stats in other areas. It will attempt to lower your Defense with Screech
before hitting you with Poison Tail, which may poison you. Ishizumai also has
high Defense. It's main moves are Faint Attack and Bug Resistance. Both are
rather weak so it shouldn't bother you too much. His last Pokemon is the fully
evolved form of Kurumiru. It excels in Attack and Speed and uses Razor Leaf
as its main move. It's pretty strong, but it has a 4x weakness to both Fire
and Flying moves.

Pokabu users will once again have an easy time with this gym. Baoppu/Baokki
will also perform well. If you don't have either of those two, you can try
using Koromori with Air Cutter, Dangoro with Rock Blast, or Dokkora with
Rock Throw.

I got through Hiun and the next city. That
Electric-type Leader
is pretty difficult. Destroyed half my team before I got rid of her first two Pokemon.

Oh my god, same here. Her two Emongas were absolutely insane to beat.
Took me 3 tries, I had to get another team member.
Although, I love my team right now :3
