Pokemon has spanned for over 10 years with the the concept of the rookie trainer going out to become the pokemon champion. In his travels, s/he usually meets some group of thugs.

Just out of curiousity, who would be your favorite evil "team?"

-team rocket
-team magma
-team aqua
-team galactic
-team cipher

(...Did I miss one?)
feel free to mention any specific member or another individual.

my favorite would be rocket. they had cooler pokemon(better than fighting poochyena, zubat, and numel/carvanah all day. does anyone know what I mean?) and had that little coolness factor to them.

I hate magma/aqua.

I like Galactic

Galactic wanted to change the world but Cyrus really wanted to destroy time and space and make a new world and killing every one else but him.

Best Technology, Best Boss

Best Pokemon: Mewtwo

None of them. They all fail. They're consistently beaten by ten-year-olds that can shout pokemon move names and wear stupid berets.

Team Skull.

Chaw-haw-haw!
Yeah, Team Skull is the best.:)
But really my favorite was Team Aqua, first because water types are my favorites, they wanted Kyogre, and they are from the Third Gen.

Team Rocket
-Good boss
-Actually evil
-Never realized their mistake and turned good
-Were in two generations, which were the best Pokemon games yet
-Went after any Pokemon, didn't form a 'team' to get one Pokemon
-Had a variety of fairly good Pokemon

Team Magma
-Okay boss
-Overdone + obvious costumes
-Realized their mistake and turned good
-Only one generation, 3rd best generation
-Only after Groudon, team's whole purpose was to get it
-Pokemon selection was repetitive

Team Aqua
-Okay boss
-Overdone + obvious costumes
-Realized their mistake and turned good
-Only one generation, 3rd best generation
-Only after Kyogre, team's whole purpose was to get it
-Pokemon selection was repetitive

Team Galactic
-Bosses had weird hair and weren't all that interesting
-Overdone + obvious costumes
-Realized their mistake and turned good
-Only one generation, worst generation
-Only after Dialga/Palkia, team's whole purpose was to get it
-Pokemon selection was repetitve and failed

Cipher
-Many bosses, all fairly good bosses
-Costumes for grunts were a little odd, albeit not that bad
-Never turned good (I don't think they turned good in XD, did they? I've never played the game)
-Two games, same generation; 3rd best generation
-After all Pokemon to make them evil
-Pokemon selection extremely varying and interesting

Winner: Team Rocket
Runner-up: Cipher
Second Runner up: Team Magma/Aqua
Loser: Galactic

That's my opinion.

I second this. The world of Pokemon is obviously void of weaponry. Pokemon never attack people, but once all your Pokemon are defeated, you really can't do anything anymore. If the world of Pokemon were a bit more realistic, they'd whip out guns and kill the little runt invading their headquarters. Instead, they just stand there and do nothing once their Pokemon are defeated. It's like, "well, I really can't do anything now, I shouldn't even warn the others!"

Stupid evil Pokemon organizations.

In the whole Entire Pokemon Series the only PERSON that have tried to kill was Hunter J. aiming Hyper Beam at a Kid and hitting them is going to have the same effect as as stabign pilot with a Beam Saber in Gundam. bye bye

Team Snagem was the most stupid villain idea ever, they were completely ********(even more than Bush)

Well we actually didn't see much of them really...but building a machine to steal other people's Pokemon is actually a smart idea since in this world you can't catch other people's Pokemon for some reason. I'm not entirely sure why you're saying they were so stupid (except for the fact that Gonzap looked really idiotic).

But yeah, I'm still not sure why their special snagging machine can uh...only snag Shadow Pokemon? What's the freakin' point of a machine used to catch other trainer's Pokemon if you can't catch all of their Pokemon?

Also, why the trainer can bat the ball away normally is stupid. If it were realistic, the ball would catch the idiot trainer trying to stop you and that would teach them a lesson. I'd enjoy that...
Why bother beating the Elite Four when you can just catch them in Pokeballs?

But yeah, that whole aspect of not being able to catch other people's Pokemon, while sort of necessary, is completely unrealistic.

Their NAME on the other hand...but um...then again, at least they're not named after trees by tradition...

Hands down the original team rocket. They weren't about some crazy global weather thing or something silly like that. They were about real straight up crime. To top it off thier boss was giovani, who was at least acted like a crime bos, not some maniac looking to have more rain. He was also like a real under cover guy, wiht being a gym leader as a front, to hide all his illegal activity.

It goes to Cipher, imo. They actually had significance to the overall plot. The same could be said for Team Rocket, I guess, but you never get too deeply involved with them until about halfway through the game(-ish), and they send off some strong "generic bad-guy team for the express purpose of creating an antagonist" vibes. Cipher also had some actually challenging bosses and varied Pokemon selection. (<3 Miror B.) The extent to which they had basically infiltrated society and spread Shadow Pokemon, especially in The Under, made me sit up and pay attention to them, which is more than I can say for any of the other evil teams.

EDIT: Also, Cipher in general and the way it operates sort of reminds me of the real world, which I guess is a good thing? For me?

First off, the Snag Machine was originally designed to steal ANY Pokémon from a trainer.
Rui and the Aura Reader will stop Wes and Micheal from using it on "normal" Pokémon.

And as for the Phobos Battlion, if it is a Pokémon, they'll steal it.
Their plan is to use the stolen Pokémon's power to run a powerful weapon they call the "Phobosphere" (a gaint cannon shaped like a Lunatone).

Team Snagem are actually the good guys in XD: Gale of Darkness, only to reclaim their glory as villians.

Cipher Master Greevil is safely behind bars and has seen the errors of his ways... But one of his sons continous to plot and sceme in the name of evil, so this may foretell a future encounter with Team Cipher.

Team Galactic still lives on! Under the command of Cyrus's son, Saturn (I think). And even the commanders thought Cyrus was a psycho.

This will end my post for now.

We are currently not at liberty to divulge that in
Team Rocket operated like a real mafia. They were primarily concerened with money and power, not following some deluded psycho who wanted to destroy the world. They actively engaged in kidnappings- going so far as to defile the Lost Tower and take all of Silph Co. hostage. On top of this, they operated on the respectable fronts of a Pokemon Gym and a casino (where they actually SOLD Pokemon). To top it off, Giovani was just bad*** compared to Galactic and Magma/Aqua's looneys.

And this is just in Red/Blue. They also got to screw with you in Gold/Silver too:chuckle:

Team Rocket is the only neutral evil one. Magma and Aqua weren't really 'evil', they just were working for a cause to save their favorite type of Pokemon. Team Galactic seems like a fanmade team so I won't count them.

So yeah, Rocket all the way.
