The file uploader uses FlashWarchamp7 why does smashboards try to load flash on every page I visit, regardless of whether or not there's an embedded youtube video

because thinking a thing is good often has little to do with any reasonable appraisal of quality and more to do with feeling comfortable with yourself by solidifying aspects of your identity that let you function easily as a part of a group of people
this is also why Attack On Titan is so popular despite being legit garbage

Transition from novel to anime makes most things super edgy/magnifies bad traits of novels. Especially when it becomes "cool" to be like, "ooh edgy, protagonist is powerful/wants to do good so original amirite"

It just kind of depends on how you formulated your opinion, I guess. I watched SAO on the recommendation of a friend, who has posters of it, and I thought it was pretty bad. Definitely not about to watch the 2nd season of that. Too much of that show just doesn't make sense, and too much of it just isn't put together well. I'm also kind of baffled that people use the excuse of "but the idea is cool" when The Matrix happened ten years earlier.
