glad to see I'm talked about :3

anyways...
I'm working on Melee Pichu as a project...

I have to say...
Melee's files are officially a PAIN to read

I found out everything is listed in a heirarchy starting from the bones
note: heirarchy means tree

so it may be a while on the dat format...
I'm alot closer on MDL0...

but I have some progress on previous attempts at getting Pichu...
it failed though as it was a brute-force method...

anyways:
I've only been able to get trophies working...
the players failed entirely...

i'm basically waiting on a model that looks halfway decent & doesn't require codes. then i'll probably model this project for project M, assuming the clone engine is ever finished. until then, hiatusan.

that's saying I can ever gain enough info to actually get the dat converted

once that's done, I'll at least have something decent to work with
DAT -> MDL0 conversion in the works

keep in mind guys...
how long did it take Kryal for his work on Brbx to actually turn out decent
not to mention how much he had to learn about the MDL0 format...

I'm only trying to catch up to him
Pichu will be in brawl, you can count on that >:)

just don't expect anything any time soon -.-*
only about half way up to his level on the mdl0 format alone

You...got the melee model exported, with the bones intact...?
you're close :)

actually, is just that...
I don't have an export yet...
but I'm getting there...

I need to figure out the grid positions for the bones
(the way my format works for handling parent/child offsets)

first off, I need to get the bone indexes working >_>

the bones are the base of the tree...
materials, textures, and objects follow...
then any extra data that's referenced (verts, attributes, etc.)

but hey...
this is better progress than anyone else has actually shown ;)

Revel did a good job on his mpx viewer though >.>
(getting it to display melee trophies)

so yea... I'm working on it...
the error is with the transform decoder >_>

would love this thread to get more love, I love pichu attitude, he is a great character, he just is below the melee cast but with a good mind holding the GCC he can do magic!

I know this pichu is getting buffed from the melee one, but I will still love him!

and I've got news on getting closer to having Melee Pichu in Brawl :D

I've found my DPv4b upload on my server, which I'll make a release to on my kc-mm program box here soon.

but this is going a bit OT,
so let's move this discussion over to my program box, kk :)

to get back on topic, I'm trying harder to get help on fixing the transformation issues for UMC dev4.5 ;)
meaning Pichu is GOING to import properly by the release. ;D

alot of experienced people seem to have trouble replying to my questions for fixing the transformation issues...
(it has taken years for them to answer, even though they've already done it)
^ and they still have yet to answer them, or send me any sort of info to help me fix this...

to me, it looks like people really don't want Melee models 9_9
(this doesn't apply to programming noobs, or unexperienced programmers)
^ I know you guys want it badly ;)

it looks quite decently better now, but it's still not perfect...

it's like other developers don't want to see a modelling noob succeed.
yes after all these years, I still call myself a noob... >_<

I won't be such a noob anymore once dev5's system is fully functional. >:3

(Pichu doesn't have legs like the current hacks do)
