I have been practicing the DR every chance i get, and i can barley move my hands fast enough on 1/2 speed, i know it's fast, but you fast are we talking about?

DR isn't as much fast as it is timing exact. You have to practice your timing more than speed.

Press jump once, VERY SLIGHT DELAY, then press Jump and A almost simultaneously (press jump about 1 from sooner.)

i tried learning it but its just too unreliable and i'm not convinced its that useful

i never wavedashed in melee anyway so maybe thats why i don't get it

Coming from the guy who can DR consistently, it's one of the hardest techs to have down. It is useful as it has the same properties to wavedashing. Most people just throw it away since they can't do the move.
