I’m curious to hear people’s opinions on this subject. My experiences when reading about differing opinions are largely positive or negative depending on the political spectrum.
Positive outlook
Negative Outlook
Personally, the issue is important to me as my wife is Japanese and I am white. I came from a predominately white Christian family with strong ties to conservative politics and lived in a 90% white neighborhood. Between my wife and I we have a daughter with plans to enlarge our family who obviously our daughter is a mixed white and Japanese.
In Japan, she obviously gets tons of attention from just about anybody and curious people wanting to know what kind of “half” she is. And the amount of times that my wife has gotten “oh she doesn’t look a thing like you!” could fill a book.
We are thinking of moving back to the States some day and where we move to will be heavily affected by this very issue. However, I do understand some people’s misgivings about this issue and have talked in length to them about it - even to some of my old friends and family members.
Anyways, I just wanted to open up a dialogue about it since it think it’s an important issue that will impact future generations.
Positive outlook
- it’s the future of the human race
- It will lead to a one world race
- Will eliminate racism
- Multiculturalism/globalism
- Result are people who look at things from different cultural perspectives
- Enriches stagnant and close-minded societies
- Stronger genes
Negative Outlook
- it’s the future of the human race
- It will lead to a one world race
- Will promote/encourage racism
- Multiculturalism/globalism
- Lack of cultural identity/split cultural identity
- Extinction of individual racial identities
- Opposite of what humanity has been doing since it became a thing
- Weaker genes/mixed people are crazy (aka Elliot Rogers syndrome)
