It's just something.... that the Grapple Beam does in Melee, nothing odd.
It can attach itself to walls, not just to the ledge.
He's not talking about tethering to the stage, he's talking about how he shot off to the left after being hit by Falcons d-air.That thing is quite common to me, so I always taught it was just something that the tether could normally do, but it was not possible all the times because the tether needed to actually target the wall instead of the ledge for it to work....

so this clip happens when you're hit into the Randall slot on Yoshi's. As people were saying earlier, perhaps this is due to FD's geometry?
