As revealed today, Sakurai revealed that stages from Super Smash Bros: Melee would be making a return. Most notably, Hyrule Temple.

Sakurai has mentioned in this update that many stages have been created and on top of those stages, he is bringing back stages from previous Smash Bros installments. Only thing about these stages though is that Sakurai mentioned there would be a slight difference in them compared to Melee and this may very well be a result of the new character’s dimensions and their relative size compared to stages like Hyrule Temple.

For the most part these is no noticeable difference in these pictures, but I’m sure once we play we’ll know what Sakurai meant when he said:

We’ve tried to create an exact replica, but there may be a few areas that differ from the last game. I hope you understand.

Can you imagine Giga Bowser getting stuck in there?

On top of the revelation of older stages, Sakurai is putting new/retro music to some of these stages to give them a new feel. I’ve always been a big fan myself of Adventures of Link, so I was happy to hear they redid the temple music to include the Great Temple (one of the most annoying dungeons/castles in Zelda history).
