once you get that .gct, you put that in ur codes folder at the root of ur sd card named RSBP01.gct. load gecko OS and it will work.
That is confusing. My SD card looks like this:

Private >>>>> Various Folders
Some other Homebrew Channel-related folder which shouldn't matter.
Apps folder
Codes folder containing appropriate cheat folder
Gameconfig.txt

You know what? I am good.

It isn't confusing, just put the .gct you download for Brawl+ into the Codes folder and name it RSBP01...

Now I actually have my SD card, I can write everything out.

apps >>>>> Gecko1901 >>>>> boot.elf, icon, meta
homebrew_browser >>>>> boot.dol
.DS_Store
codes >>>>> RSBP01.gct
private >>>>> etc.
temp >>>>> etc.
gameconfig

I'm pretty sure the boot.xxx are supposed to be in the root.

OK.... I tried it, but it freezes when I try a map. I clicked on FD and when the music stops to load the map it freezes. Is this because I have Phoenix Mario on my SD? I made a folder and named him like a texture.

Apologies for DP. I don't think I was clear. I named him FitMario01.

*Major Developments*

I just realised some things:
1. I was checking my Saves and found that I have an NTSC Homebrew Channel
2. GeckoOS was running my CD, not Brawl+.

So I was planning on clearing and starting again, so I was wondering what i should do. Would this work?-
1. Get the SD-ready pre-made package for Brawl+.
2. Replace the NTSC code file for a PAL one.
3. Rename folder "private/wii/APP/RSBE/" to "private/wii/APP/RSBP"
4. ?????
5. PROFIT!

Also, how can I make GeckoOS run Brawl+?

Gecko OS all you gotta do is click LAUNCH GAME (the VERY FIRST OPTION) it is not that hard... you need to have your Brawl CD in the disc drive. The HBC's region doesn't matter either.

I think I FINALLY understand. One last question though - do i need to rename the folder I said? The one named after the NTSC codefile which contains the area for character textures.

I really am a newb, account created today.

You have to if you plan to use textures, yes.
