Half-Genie Hero coming to Switch this summer. Loved my experience on the Wii U so might dip in for the Switch version again when it arrives.

Been awhile guys. I am glad to see the support for Shantae still being strong as always. I do hope that if a Smash 4 Deluxe edition comes out that Shantae be a newcomer to it. I am going to get Half Genie Hero again. I already own it Digitally and Physically on WII U so I will take another dip with the upcoming Switch version.

Wonder if Switch Neon Color Shantae would be an unlock-able costume?

The Switch version got a release date of June 8th so we'll be able to pick it up and take it on the go in less than a week.

Even if it's not the full explanation, I do think the ballot has a lot to do with this. I myself first learned of Shantae through the Smash ballot.

It's hard to find any meaningful measure of how much attention the Smash ballot received, but it was a huge announcement for one of Nintendo's most popular titles. Given how widely discussed Shantae was as a ballot contender, it seems probable that her positive trending since then owes a lot to the exposure she received through the ballot.

Besides the Ballot, Shantae got her first home console game (as unless you're Pokemon or Fire Emblem then handheld games don't count) and Wayforward have been upping her cameo game. Such things do help her prominence too.

I don't know if any of you still remember a little fiasco that occurred mid-Smash Ballot regarding Shantae. Cristina Vee's IMDb page had been edited (possibly by a fan) to claim that Shantae had been added to Smash 4, and Cristina had reprised her role as her.

A few days later, Ms. Valenzuela had to take to Twitter to assure everyone that Shantae was NOT confirmed for Smash in any capacity, and Nintendo has NOT called her in to do any voice work for Smash.

That being said, she DID state that she would be beyond excited if Shantae DID get into Smash, and she was called in to do voice work for her in said game, so she reminded everyone to keep voicing their support for her in the Ballot.

I'm super excited that Pirate's Queen Quest will be coming out next week! Shantae Half-Genie Hero is such an amazing game, and having another playable character gets to excite me more! I was actually surprised, yet pleased that Cristina Vee (my favorite voice actress!) has voiced Risky Boots as well, and I'm happy that Half-Genie Hero will be adding more voicework after I got Vee's tweets.

It's certainly possible. She probably did well on the ballot and the physical version of half genie hero with all the dlc is only available on the switch. I'm not holding my breath though, she's got hurdles to get over.
