StageListIsNoGood - An Online Tournament by Nysyarc​

As the title implies, this is a tournament for which the stage list is quite frankly pretty dumb. Nothing stupidly illegal and broken like Shadow Moses but it's definitely not what you'll be used to. It will be a 16 player, double-elimination tournament. I'll quickly go over the basic points of the ruleset and the wacky stage list:

- 3 stocks.
- 8 minute timer.
- Items are set to "Off" and "None".
- Sets are best of 3 matches. Loser's Finals, Winner's Finals and Grand Finals are best of 5 matches.
- Stalling is banned. Meta Knight's infinite Dimensional Cape glitch is banned.

Standard stage-striking procedure for 7 starter stages will be used. The first player strikes 2 stages, the second player then strikes 3 stages, and the first player strikes the final stage to decide which one will be played on. The first match of a set can only be played on the listed starter stages. Players will be expected to note what stages were played on when reporting on their sets.

After the first match, the player who won can ban 2 stages. The losing player then counter-picks any stage besides the two banned by the winner. Repeat this process if the set continues past 2 matches, except you cannot change your initial stage bans or counter-pick a stage you have already won on in that set.

Banned stages cannot be played on under any circumstances, even if both players would agree to it. I'll be watching you. You can use the following Xat chatroom for stage-striking and counter-picking if you'd like, but the tourney will not be done all at one time, you will have 1 week to complete each round:

I prefer 7 starter stages but if I were to do 5 I wouldn't include FD. It'd probably be:

And I've got to have lots of stages. As long as a stage has nothing easily abused by certain characters to the point of being empirically considered broken (like Corneria's wall or something) it's legal as far as I'm concerned.
