If it's going to help, all characters you listed except Sheik were playable characters, not sure if that changes anything. Though, if Sheik is a one-off, Ganondorf was too, when he first included.

Ganondorf is kind of just the chosen version of Ganon in general, though.

My point was simply that deeming a character unworthy of a character spot due to being a one-off isn't the best argument. (And I don't remember playing as the dog or the duck in Duck Hunt. )

This has always confused me, how does one 'win' a suggestion box?

Like was announced as the winner, but how does one do that when the ballot was a suggestion box?

I may have also voted for Gengar and Steve, but I'm not 100% sure.

I hope Skull Kid did well; I hope Geno did well too, and I assume he did because of what Sakurai said about his popularity and requests.

I feel like they could've easily disguised Cloud as the "winner" if they wanted to do this. It would be more believable.

Bayo's slot showed up 2 weeks after the ballot started (patch 1.1.0). That means she started development even earlier as patches are in the servers a bit before they're public (which is how Roy + Ryu leaked). There's no way they could get the rights to a third-party character so quickly, so the ballot was almost certainly unrelated to playable characters. It could have been used for Mii costumes, and we've seen its influence on Ultimate.

I voted for shadow and Krystal from star fox. Even though shadow was an AT at the time I still voted for him just to hope one day he would be playable. As for Krystal well I thought she would be a nice addition to the game because of her staff...but we know what happened to her so RIP

If I got to choose a new MegaMan fighter, id have to pick Tron Bonne. She was one of my mains in Mvc2 and 3 so I want her to be in Smash to dunk on Infinite even more.

Finally... someone with culture.

Tron would be a dream honestly. My MvC2 main, my favorite non-Roll character from my favorite MegaMan series, a wonderful moveset potential, Smash appearances of the little Servbots that inspired one of my longer-running online handles...I'd be in heaven.

I think my main choices for a new MegaMan rep while discounting assist trophies and final smash cameos would be Roll for classic, Bass.EXE for Battle Network, Tron Bonne for Legends, and Vile for X. If we discount any iteration of a character being in due to the final smash, replace Bass.EXE with Colonel.EXE.

I actually can't remember who I voted for, but it was either or BWD. They're the only characters I still really wanted that had any shot. I'd love Heracross as a fighter, but as long as we're in a universe where they just force something from [current gen] into Smash, that's not happening.

(I also voted for a **** ton of other characters....top of my head Impa and Lana from Hyrule Warriors. Don't remember the rest. I can confirm I didn't vote for any veterans. I wasn't as interested in seeing their return over newcomers, and didn't feel they needed any extra votes from me).

The perfect WTF rep is The Savvy Stylist (Style Savvy). Non-combatant? Check. Is in a game geared toward a demographic that Smash Bros. doesn't cater much to? Check again. Is from a relatively recent and popular first-party franchise and originates from the DS era (which lacks playable reps)? Triple check. Is from an IP that has no playable reps, but at least two songs and a trophy? You bet. This isn't some side character and/or a character from some game that came out over a decade or two ago. Despite all of these legitimate reasons and more, there is no outcry for this character. WTF indeed. She may seem like a joke to some, and would be unexpected to many, but there is no doubt that the salt would be real and the WTF factor would be greater than even Wii Fit Trainer.

Btw, the Stylist was my vote on the old ballot. I'm rooting for Elma currently since she has good odds, but I know how Sakurai thinks, and one day I hope he does his thing and surprises most of you (but not me) with the greatness that is Style Savvy.

I'm specifically rooting for Sophie because she's in my favorite game in the series but I've grown so fond of the series thanks to the thread on Smashboards and I hope we get either Sophie or a protagonist with many outfits and looks.

I can't remember who I voted for in the Smash Ballot, but I remember my Top 5 being Rayman, Bomberman, Shovel Knight, Dixie Kong and Banjo & Kazooie. I had just got to back into Nintendo games around that time, so my choices weren't as refined as they are now (I probably didn't even know who Geno was).

If the ballot happened now, then I would choose Mike Jones and Geno in a heartbeat.

My thoughts exactly and based on other points of evidence she might have been the project plan from the start. Then bug fixed to be implemented later.
