[SmashCAP 2]
Start date: 1/30/10
End date:--/--/--
Concept: Type Representation
Typing: Grass / Ghost
Ability: Shield Dust / Immunity
Stats: 121 / 55 /127 / 90 / 103 / 64

Name: Lilibelle

Congrats to the submitter of Lilibelle: Writer! That's his 2nd credit this SmashCAP! Woo!

Anyways, with the art and name settled it is time to let our talented spriters take the wheel for this stage of SmashCAP. Although FF's submission has no color, you can either wing it or ask FF what he intended the colors to be. Keep in mind for a final submission you need at least 4 sprites: (if you're doing gender differences you should have 8 in your final submission, one sprite per gender)

- Front sprite normal
- Front sprite shiny
- Back sprite normal
- Back sprite shiny

You don't need to reserve a post, just like make posts here and there on your progress or if you have some sprites to show, and then your final submission should include all of them. :D

What color scheme should the sprite have?
I'm imagining white or green with pink, purple, or even black hi-lights, but what do you guys think?

I've never posted here before, but I'm willing to try this.

I was imagining the bottom part of the skirt being dark green, the upper part being darker green, the shirt being white, the collar being pink, the face being white with the stripe on the face being hot pink, having the inner part of the petals on the head being yellow, and the outer part being red.

leaves are a light shade of green with a yellow center
eyes are solid black
bottom of the dress-like area should be a light shade of green
middle part white
white face
neck area pink
the stripes should be either yellow or a light shade of green

that's what i'm feeling

Right now I'm working on a prototype which I will post tomorrow. It's pretty crappy, but as I said, it IS a prototype

Here's my first submission of the normal Lilibelle sprite (well, all the following sprites are, but this one is the base):

Here's a color scheme modeled after mood4food77's idea of a.... well, color scheme:

Here's AceLucario's color scheme:

And here's a bunch of variations on the color schemes:

Is it me or does mood4food's color scheme make the pokemon look even more like Gardevoir? o.o

Did you guys decide to use the original design? That's cool.

I'm going to be traveling in Ireland for the next week, so won't be around for a while. Good luck with the SmashCAP process and the SWF-Dex too!

Also, I agree with the white face and body/arms, with red face markings. (And if you end up going with the fat version, a white flower coat)

i liked the old version for a sprite better
it just seems more poke-like

try the color schemes again for the fat version

They're too opaque in my opinion. In order to make this feel more like grass/ghost-type and not just a grass-type, I advise making it more transparent.

I agree with Terywj too. They're too vibrant in coloring. Even the white, which is what you'd think would make it look like a ghost, is too vibrant.

What do you mean by "transparent"?

Obviously you wouldn't make it that transparent, but that's basically the description of what I mean. Ghostly I guess is a better way of describing it.

I don't know how to do it with the proper colors, otherwise I'd try my hand for the first time at scratching. If I figure it out though, I'll make it.

EDIT: Credit goes to Dragonfree for the sprite.

Good idea, Kupo. It still has time to look ghostly yet!

@Terywj: You have to do the Spire Dance:

Eggmanland, obviously.
You recieve it during an event involving Spire....I think.

I think you're supposed to guess what number Spire's on and he'll give you one.

You can sell it back to him for (1337xwhatever number he's on) Pokedollars, but seriously, who would? :)

Back on topic: There should be some shades of purple on Libelle. Like lavender.

Are there any purple lilies in existence to use as references?

My question is, why transparent white?
I can understand white, off-white, or even a dim grey, but transparent white?

It may just be me being picky, but "ghostly white" would suit it better. A literal transparent white would just show up as grey on these forums.

The first layer of white cloth could be the only part that's transparent.
(Ex.: Second layer of showing sleeve could not be transparent or only partially.)
