NOTE: As of now, all of these imported stage files are larger than the original files they overwrite. In order to install them, you will need to rebuild the ISO.
1) Open your ISO with GCR
2) Right click on "root" in the file tree on the right and click "Export". Select a location to export the entire filesystem.
3) Close GCR.
4) Go to the exported Root folder and overwrite an original file with one from this page.
5) Open GCR.
6) Click "Options" in the top and then click "Do not use game.toc".
7) Select "Root" at the top and select "Open..." and navigate to the root you just exported and modified.
8) Click "Root" again in the top left and click "Save...". Choose a name and location for the new ISO.
9) Click "Root" again and select "Rebuild".
Alternatively DTW can rebuild your iso without the need to export your iso. However as of now it can only do so one file at a time.

If you want to to access modified target stages through the Stage Select Screen get the index of the stage and replace the the last byte (DD) in the corresponding dol offset.

To change the song that plays for a given stage read this
Melee Stage Hacking Documentation (WARNING: Not User-Friendly)
Stage music

If you wish to request an import. Head over to brawl vault and post the link to that stage in here along with an image/video. As well as tag me. My import process is doing whatever I want whenever I feel like so don't expect an immediate import. Ill take it into consideration though. These things take a long time to do .

If you wish to help in some way theres plenty to do with task as simple as entering numbers in DTW, loading the game and looking for changes. Just PM me or tag me to let me know.

If you to wish

You have to rebuild your ISO and choose ignore TOC for these stages to work.

These are by no means done. Im just sharing the WIPs. I plan on rebuilding the file adding more things and fixing issues so I wouldnt really suggest heavily making changes to these. That being said battlefield is pretty close to being done. Image pointers and pallet struct (not the pallet) pointers are root nodes.

Now to go find all the sources I imported these from.
Next up since Achilles has been helping me out.

You're a god.

The first one is great but is there any way you could make a version just like that but without the castle? I would love to just have a battlefield stage over an infinite sea of water.

The first one lags when theres more than 2 players, Im pretty sure the water is one of the causes. The second one is for 4 players (although I havent tested if it lags).

The fact that at the beginning on of the things on the bottom is glowing tells me its something wrong with an object index. Does this happen to anyone else. It doesnt to me. I might have uploaded the wrong version. Its also possible that if youre using the disable background transitions code that this is the cause.

Woohoo! It looks so good. I'm quite excited.

Final Destination freezes on my Wii almost immediately. When I play it on Dolphin, after like 2 seconds I get this big black box in the middle of the screen and then a lot of my textures and stuff are messed up after that point (even after I leave the stage, similar to Itaru's video). I also noticed the characters are not centered (z-axis) on the stage.

Yoshi's story looks REALLY good.

Battlefield is obviously cool. In this new importing method of yours, do you disable the normal stage elements or completely remove them? Can I modify the second Battlefield to have the normal background again or is it totally gone from the file?

Didn't test Pokemon on console.

Its still there. Battlefield loads 4 players (although lags) so Im going to make my max file size around it (2.5mb). If its under that size after importing I dont plan on deleting anything. As far as FD, you might be having the same problem as itaru. Are you using the disable background transitions code. It works on my wii so its completely possible I uploaded the wrong file.
In order to return the battlefield background you need to know where it is though. I zerod the bone flags on anything not showing. Youd have to restore them. Then you can zero the bone flags for the sky. Itd probably be easier if I did it for you though.

As for the castle thing. Go to 0x206464 in the file and put 0x00000000. Should look like this when youre done.
GALE01-127.png

Looks better than expected. Since the water is translucent and the sky is rendered beneath it, it looks like a reflection.

Not using the code.

I know some Battlefield bones for the BG are located around 0x2ad8c. Do you have a list of each bone structure location you added to the file?

I only add to the stage bone (the 6th one in the root section thing I talk about in the dat research thread). Use that to find the bones. map head--> root section (second pointer). then every 0x34 should be a bone structure.
Also do you have any codes active. It works on my dolphin so Im not sure what to tell you.

And how did you go about doing that? Just flags?
Its the 0x3c flag we were talking about. It makes the shadows flicker though. I cant figure it out.
By the way I made progress with importing the collision (aka remaking them). But it breaks the game here and there. You wanna take a lot at it. Its just the collision file so use the debug menu.

Basically Im too lazy to look over every link and just copied the links from brawl with some changes here and there. Left side freezes the game. Right side teleports you.
Collision data is moved to 0x6cfd0.

Should warn you hyrule castle has the same issue with shading. Its probably going to look closer to this if I dont figure out the shading.

I see. I'll try and check it out. Currently trying to test some stuff with the shading flag. So you are using Battlefield as the base? Is it still using a "Stage Size" of 0.8 in GroundParam?

I was originally using a target stage but then remembered I havent figured out how to add spawns yets. I have a lead though. But until then I just picked battle field because I have a lot of stuff mapped out on it. Id probably do the final import on a different stage.

Just tried for an hour to figure out more about the shadow flickering. Got nothing... So frustrating.

What does the 0x40 do in the first byte of the flag word?

It works fine when modifying the vanilla material structures.

upload_2015-10-3_19-28-26.png

Also, the unknown material struct flag for this platform is 00000011. (0xf8c0 in GrOp)

After the stage loads and runs through its function for parsing all the stage data, it is automatically turned to 04000011.

I think its something to do with priority. The images dont render properly unless they are 0x40. Maybe its because I changed the bone flags.
Edit: If you have any idea which flag could be the caused Id go through the file and test pretty much anything at this point. I cant find it.

I really wish I had reserved the second post for WIPs. Anyways this goes over battlefield. The blastzones and spawn need to be changed, as well as it needs to be imported over a different stage, but Ill do that after I look into shading some more.

Well the battlefield I imported already lags with 4 players so I dont think the gc can handle the wii u's. Also its not ported to brawl yet.

Its a training stage, so theres only 1 spawn. I started this before I realized I didnt know how to fix it. Went ahead and finished it. But there are a lot of things I dont seem to be able to do so its time I tried achilles debug method to see why not. Color structs arent working.

Sweeeet.
Works fine on the wii for 1v1s
Can you directly rip the Sm4sh FD from your ISO and repost it? The one in the DL link freezes for me and also breaks Dolphin.

I see.
So...
Achilles1515 Achilles1515 , can you make 20XX which including old battlefield and zankyou battlefield?
Yeah.

Shading, multiple images per material, color structs, spawns. The further I get into model hacking the more I realize I dont know what Im doing. The hat was pure luck.

Real high level question here.

Say I wanted to put one of your new Battlefield platforms into a regular Battlefield file.

Starting with the bone structure of the new platform...if I copy the object data and EVERYTHING that the object data points to (image data, display list, everything...), then paste it at the end of the regular battlefield file and adjust all pointers, then switch the old platform object data pointer to the new platform object data that I pasted to the end of the file....will it now properly display the new platform??

Sorry for the run on sentence.
