Steam Chat Weekly Crew Battles​

WHEN: Every Saturday at 10pm Eastern Time
WHERE: Smash64 Steam Chatroom: http://steamcommunity.com/groups/ssb64
Join the group, then click the blue "Enter chat room" button on the right.
If you don't have a Steam account then you should make one, seriously it's 2013.
If you have a Steam account, but no games on it (which makes you unable to join chatrooms) then message me and I can give you a free game.

Crews will start by picking 2 captains who will then pick people 1 by 1. The Captain who chooses 2nd will get to pick two people in a row near the end to make it fair. Example:

Captain 1 chooses Player A
Captain 2 chooses Player B
Captain 1 chooses Player C
Captain 2 chooses Players D and E
Captain 1 chooses the last guy remaining (AKA the fat kid)

Standard tournament rules apply. Stages will generally be Dreamland/Hyrule/Congo, or losing team picks, but we could do any setup depending on what the players want. You must stick with the same character throughout your matches.

These will be hosted every weekend as long as there's enough interest. Maybe there could be Steam Games/TF2 Items given out to the winning team? Who knows.

Results from the test crew battle (to gauge interest) on Thursday, January 18th. It was thrown together in about 10 minutes so not many people entered.

We originally had 10 players but HolyQuebec had controller problems so he had to drop. It was also originally 5v5 but we opted to rearrange the teams because one was a little overpowered... you'll see why.

I watched koro v frog and then koro v mark p. Who is Mark P and why does he have a controller? Was he joking around or something because the last match was stupid.

Anyway this is a cool idea. Anything to make more competitive outlets for smash, even if its something not super serious like pickup crew battles. Don't let boom play GODMASTER KIRBY in crew battles though, its like frog on steroids.

skype sounds cool. if not everyone has skype we can also use steam's built in chatroom voice chat as well.

we streamed the last game but we'll probably need a new streamer this week because mark lives in the netherlands. lol

This tournament also becomes a failboat when Matt or some other host does not care so that is why it is done at that time. If you have to leave sooner, tell your crew captain that and I guess you'll play earlier if possible.
