Strategy to use against annoying opponent

i regularly play against a ness and the majority of the time i have no problem winning. the only problem i have is all the kid will do at some points is shield grab and run away. if a character with projectiles are used he uses his magnet. anyone have an idea how to get around such a strategy other than just playing him?

Use a character with a physical projectile.
I noticed you use Dedede just keep throwing Waddle Dee's since he cant absorb them.
