This is absurd. Though, stealing is a great way to make money.

Like one of the youtubers said, it reminds me of the N64, more specifically the oddball low-end games like Gex and Chameleon Twist and how both, featured lizards and copied Mario in many ways.

Mario's unofficial counterpart is "3rd party platforming lizard".

The Chinese (as a country, not a race) are just freaking morons when it comes to understanding copyright laws (or they are just outright money-hungry thieves), that game even stole Klonoa's voice, the Stepmania arrows, and the Jeopardy theme! (Watch the end of the second video to hear it).

The really sad thing is, this is almost creative compared to their constant game counterfeiting. Go on eBay or any other auction site and put in a DS game such as Super Mario 64 DS and see how many come from China. (The labels on the cartridges don't even match the real ones)

(and LOL at the boss'' attacks.)

B...But Gex Deep Cover Gecko was amazing :(.

It's worrying that the thing about this game that annoys me the most is the footstep sound/ walking animation and speed. His legs go super fast, he travels really slow, as do his footstep sounds.

So, so true. I remember one time I saw a case of Chinese fireworks with the Warcraft III Orc on the case.

Well, not exactly the same but by Chinese copyrighty logic, it isn't copyright infringment if you use photoshop, right?

Those silly non-Japanese.
I hope you aren't applying that as a blanket term. There's billions of people living in China, they can't all be swindling rip-off artists.

You too.

But assuming that no insult was intended, then hell, I wonder how long it will take for Nintendo to get word of this. It probably won't last too long after that.

lol, looks like a bad texture hack for mario galaxy
Yes it does.

Also, wow the music just fails too, and the lizard's voice is SO annoying! And, LOL to when you die. You just kind of fall with a red screen and you lose a life.

Maybe in 10 years we'll have a war over this. How does the Chinese Copyright War sound?

I must say now, I take this as an insult because Warcraft III was a great game.
But the Haruhi appearance in that TF2/Toy Story hybrid rip-off was hilarious.
Makes you wonder why so many Chinese game companies fail to understand copyright so easily.

Yet... There is another game company in Europe that makes the most obvious rip-offs of Disney ever: Phoenix Games.

Seriously, we have:
"Son of the Lion King": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i6M5juMzUbs
"Mighty Mulan": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vgSv0Z-Dbb4
"Peter Pan": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JsV5ymHCNww

How come Chinese people can get away with stuff like this? Why hasn't no one taken any action and sued the pants off China yet?

USA laws don't really apply in foreign countries.
Yet the game was made in Japan and has an international copyright, like most of the stuff they plagerize in China.

You'd think if they were creative enough to figure out how to decode and copy games they would be able to make their own games.

LOL, I know someone who tried to order Pokemon Platinum online...

He saw one for $5 so bought it.

It turned out to be a Chinese bootleg when he finally got it.

It was hilarious how much effort they put in to actually make a manual (Which is funny because the pictures in it all say "Gamespot" on them) with the most horrible Engrish I've seen.

Why go to that much effort to make something that doesn't even look like they tried?

And yet disney themselves was just a rip off of the japanese.

The lion king was a rip off of kimba the white lion, a japanese anime.

observe the resemblence:

Not to mention the plot was a rip off of hamlet.

but back on topic, the most shameless rip off I have ever seen was a relic my aunt and uncle got at a garage sale one time: apower joy pj-008

The power joy had a rip off n64 controller, a rip off NES controller for second players, and a rip off zapper.

The cartridge continted such greats as pandamar. it was such good fun!

How can someone(especially Chinese gmae companies) NOT understand copyright laws. It's not rocket science. I think those people in China need a copyright laws for dummies book if that even exists.

Thing is, copyright laws don't apply in china. Here in the US, or pretty much anywhere in western civilization, if a company violates copyright laws, they can be sued in the courts of that country.

China's government for the most part does not recognize copyright laws, and if they do they turn a blind eye to companies who infringe on foreign copyrights in their country. And no one else can do anything about it because in china the highest authority is the Chinese government.

It's not that they don't understand copyright laws, it's that they legally are not subjected to them, and can get away with completely ignoring them. It's the beauty of international relations.

It is times like these that remind me of a little movie I like to call "Turkish Star Wars".

The movie, in it's essence, is a completely blatant copy of Star Wars, even using clips of the movie to make up for it's apparent lack of special effects. But for some reason, I am not mad at the people who made Turkish Starwars, because it's one of the funniest things I've ever seen.

And honesty, the guy in the blue cowboy shirt kicks ***.

but to be more on topic and try to not turn this thread into the "Obviously plagiarized works of our modern culture", I didnt know Little foot could fly. It just greaves me that he and Sarah couldnt get along.

And you guys are replying to a 4 month old thread why? It clearly says in the rules that you do not reply to threads that are more than a month old. If I was a mod, I wouldn't tolerate this rule breaking.
