So, Smogon is slow. Real slow. They don't even have Gen V analyses up yet. While I can't exactly replace Smogon, I can do the best I can. Here is the list of effective sets I've come across in my DW laddering experiences on Smogon. Lots of EVs and Natures here are tentative, but they're generally good. These aren't full-blown articles or amazing analyses, nothing more than a simple list of sets with an occasional comment if I feel like putting one in. Please feel free to comment on any sets and alert me if I made some silly mistake when writing down all these sets, and obviously you guys can talk about the metagame here and such and how all these sets have whatever their impact is. You can also discuss teambuilding here and how to build around the top threats in the metagame. So now, I present you...

[collapse=Blaziken]Speed Boost Sweeper
Blaziken @ [Life Orb / Leftovers]
Speed Boost / Adamant
4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Swords Dance
Protect / Shadow Claw
Hi Jump Kick
Flare Blitz / Blaze Kick

Speed Boost is an amazing ability, after a few turns, nothing outspeeds you. Combine that with Swords Dance to boost your attack, a free switch could be all you need to sweep your opponent. Hi Jump Kick and Flare Blitz are essentials on this set, but if you don't like the Nasty Recoil, Blaze Kick should still hit with decent power, or another alternative would be to run Leftovers to attempt to counterbalance the recoil from Hi Jump Kick and Flare Blitz. Your other move option comes down to Shadow Claw and Protext. Protect is for valuable free speed boosts, while Shadow Claw lets you get rid of threats such as Chandelure, Slowbro, and Jellicent, who would normally halt your sweep cold.

Baton Pass
Blaziken @ Leftovers
Speed Boost / Jolly
252 HP / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Protect
Swords Dance
Baton Pass
Blaze Kick

Rather than going on an off on an offensive rampage, this set goes and passes the boosts it gets to another Pokemon that's even more capable of sweeping. This set is highly outclassed by Shell Break, but it does have the one factor of the chance for more safe speed boosts, at +3 nothing is going to be outspeeding whatever you Baton Pass to (unless you choose something gruesomely slow). However, it does have the drawback of a lack of SpA Boosts. If you're going all-physical on your pass recipient anyways, you might as well use Blaziken, but otherwise, go back to Gorebyss.

Blaziken's best counters come in the form of Jellicent, Slowbro, and Chandelure, which are immune to fighting and resist Fire. Even with Chandelure's pitiful bulk, it still takes the hits rather well. Bulky Waters in general with large physical defensive investment will take Blaziken down as well.

[collapse=Ditto]Eccentric
Ditto @ Choice Scarf
Eccentric / Adamant
252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Def
Transform

Ditto is among one of the best revenge killers in all of Dream World. Ditto's amazing ability Eccentric is the key to its success, not only does it allow Ditto to fire any Pokemon's attacks back at them, but with a Choice Scarf it'll outpace most everything it comes across (it risks speed ties with other scarfers such as Garchomp or Genosect). This especially is key against set-up sweepers: Once a Pokemon of your opponent's sets up, you can revenge kill them with Ditto, not only do you steal the boosts, but you also outspeed them, allowing you to KO them and turn their sweep right back at them. Some Pokemon cannot be revenged as easily, such as Bulk Up Conkeldurr, which prefers to be slower for the Drain Punch heal. Ditto's only real flaw is team preview, which will basically make your opponent not even attempt to set up until Ditto is out of the way. This pressure alone might be enough to let you break team that are reliant on boost sweeping, however.

Ditto doesn't have any real counters per say, but since you know it's Choice locked, as well as the set it's using, you should be able to work around it as any other Pokemon.

[collapse=Kabutops]Note: Kabutops is now void on Smogon's DW metagame due to the Drizzle + Swift Swim ban. His set will remain here for any metagame still allowing the combination,

Swords Dance
Kabutops @ Life Orb
Swift Swim / [Jolly / Adamant]
4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Swords Dance
Stone Edge
Waterfall
Aqua Jet

Kabutops is easily the weakest of the main Rain abusers, but that does not make him weak. Kabutops boosts his already good attack sky high with Swords Dance, and in the Rain, very little will ever outspeed him. Waterfall gets the obvious Double STAB in Rain, and Stone Edge finishes up the Synergy, covering most everything but Nattorei, Virizion, Empoleon, and Breloom. Aqua Jet is there for that extra bit of priority to hit other speedy sweepers, or beat out other priority.

Kabutops' counters and checks are rather simple. Nattorei, Virizion, Empoleon, and Breloom laugh away at his STAB, Bulky Waters can take the Stone Edge with enough defensive investment, and Mach Punchers like Roob, or when Kabutops is weakened, Scizor's Bullet Punch will take it down, and the Aqua Jet won't be enough to take out either of these two.

[collapse=Kingdra]Kingdra's Swift Swim has become irrelevant due to Smogon's new Drizzle + Swift Swim combination ban. These articles will still exist for players in a metagame still allowing these.

Choice Specs
Kingdra @ Choice Specs
Swift Swim / [Timid / Modest]
4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Hydro Pump
Surf
Draco Meteor
Dragon Pulse

Choice Specs Kingdra hits like a truck, and in rain, it hits even harder and goes even faster. Hydro Pump in Rain is so obscenely powerful that even a Ferrothorn with a fair dent in it still is 2HKO'd. Kingdra is an absolute monster in Rain, and Choice specs emphasizes this. Only Empoleon and Ferrothorn resist Water/Dragon, unfortunately the latter is extremely common, limiting the sheer impact of this (and for that matter, ANY) Kingdra set.

ChestoRest DD
Kingdra @ Chesto Berry
Swift Swim / Jolly
4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Dragon Dance
Rest
Waterfall
Outrage

ChestoRest DD is by far the most viable set when no in Rain, but it's nothing to scoff at in Rain either. While again, it is brutally walled by Ferrothorn and almost as much by Empoleon, it's still a huge hazard. In Rain, after a single DD you're basically outspeeding everything, but the goal of this set is to get MORE than 1 DD. Two, three, four Dragon Dances are up hopefully by the time you Rest, letting you sweep with a fresh Kingdra. In or out of Rain, ChestoRestDD is going to tear through teams, as well as making an excellent Rain check. The Utility of the set doesn't end there either, due to Rest, this Kingdra is capable of switching in multiple times in order to sponge water attacks for your team with Kingdra's amazing 4x Water resistance.

Kindgra's counters must be plainly obvious be now: Ferrothorn, Ferrothorn, Ferrothorn, Empoleon, Ferrothorn. While Bulky Waters can handle Kingdra outside of Rain, in Rain, you're down to these two for your best hopes. Virizion can also check Kingdra in Rain, namely specs Kingdra, as long as it doesn't get in on a Draco Meteor (it won't like Dragon Pulse one bit either, though). Calm Mind Virizion can set up on a Kingdra locked into Surf or Hydro Pump with ease, and even after a single CM it makes life hell for Rain teams.

[collapse=Ludicolo]Ludicolo's Swift Swim has become irrelivant to the Smogon server, but sets will still remain up for any metagame played without the ban on the combination of Drizzle + Swift Swim

Swift Swim Sweeper
Ludicolo @ Life Orb
Swift Swim / Timid
4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Energy Ball / Giga Drain
Surf / Hydro Pump
Focus Bast
Ice Beam

Ludicolo is rather notable for one good thing: It's the only sweeper that can really take on Nattorei. Beyond good coverage and typing is the horrid, yet useful, move Focus Blast. Focus Blast is amazing for being able to take on Nattorei, not that it really pounds Nattorei into oblivion with ease, because it DOESN'T do that. It's a decent 3HKO if Nattorei happens to be fresh. It's just so great for the fact that Ludicolo CAN do it where Kingdra and Kabutops CAN'T. For Ludicolo's other moves, Energy Ball and Giga Drain comes down to a hair more power, or healing to reverse LO recoil. Surf and Hydro Pump is the classic Power vs Accuracy debate.

Ludicolo isn't exactly a powerhouse in Rain, but it has outstanding coverage, making it difficult to counter. The easiest method to counter it is to Paralyze it, making it open to slower Pokemon that can nail it and OHKO it with ease due to poor physical defense.

This is awesome Ulti +10 rep.

I know these are just general sets but are we aloud to add on with some different (yet effective) sets? I have a couple that I could throw in there.

Psycho ****? haha

I've seen alot of SD Gliscors running:
SD
Taunt
Facade
Earthquake

Riddle gave me that set and I see it pretty often now.

I saw one easter egg under one of the poke's sets and I had to read the others just to try and find more.

Awesome post.

I'll slash Taunt and Facade onto the set, then.

TRG, adding sets is fine, as long as it's actually common enough to actually even matter.

The entire reason why I made this was just so people could teambuild easier.

SUCCESS!

Nice job with this man also you spelled pain split wrong for Gengar's set and isn't Deoxys banned?

Only Deoxys-N and A. Speed and Defense are fair game.

You can see that Defense didn't even make the list, if I want to prove a point here.

Edit: Updated list for English names.

I think you misunderstand.

Chansey @ Evo Stone
252 Def/252 HP/4 SpDef
Bold / Natural Cure

Charm/Defense Curl
Softboiled
Toxic
Wish/Aromatherapy

Don't focus on team support, focus on hardcore walling and toxic stalling. Pair with Magnezone AND shandera to get rid of steels. Charm is basically better, but Defense Curl won't be removed by switching, forcing the opponent to either have a strong STAB fighting move or to phaze you, which is just a temporary solution. Light Screen patches up special defense, Protect stalls more, Wish gives you another move to recover HP, and Aromatherapy would fit if you're using Defense Curl since it would allow you to remove status without switching and losing your Def boosts. Chansey can take anything OTHER than STAB Close Combat, even if it's some other STAB fighting move, because those moves are piss-poor weak, and even something with STAB Close Combat won't win if it switches into a Charm short of a critical hit.

Calcs for relevance:

-1 Guts Roobushin Drain Punch vs. Chansey (you Charm as it uses Bulk Up expecting a switch-out after hitting it with Toxic on the switch): (53.13% - 63.07%)
+0 LO Breloom Mach Punch vs. Chansey (you Charm as it uses Swords Dance): (48.01% - 56.53%)
-2 LO Lucario Close Combat vs. Chansey (Charm as it switches in, so if you're desperate you can stall it out with LO recoil or go to Shandera): (47.16% - 55.68%)
-2 LO Blaziken Hi Jump Kick vs. Chansey (Charm as it switches in, etc.): (53.98% - 63.92%)
-2 LO Medicham Drain Punch vs. Chansey: (40.06% - 47.16%)
-2 LO Medicham Hi Jump Kick vs. Chansey: (69.89% - 82.10%)
+0 LO Garchomp Outrage: (48.15% - 56.68%)
+1 Keldeo Mystery Sword: (82.95% - 98.01%)

aka jesus this guy can tank basically anything as long as you sit there spamming Charm and have Toxic Spikes support. It can even fire off a Toxic vs. Keldeo and then run from Mystery Sword (a unique advantage of Defense Curl, as it would allow you to stat up against CM Keldeo after you hit it with Toxic and survive Mystery Sword). These are the strongest of the strong physical attackers.

^Random **** like that is why I almost always have a phazer.

But in all seriousness I thought he was suggesting dropping Wish for Defense Curl which would leave it with no means of recovery.

Keep in mind that you're probably going to lose all boosting wars since it's entirely possible you'll get critted before Toxic Damage kills anything.

Softboiled doesn't heal anymore? Huh.
Chansey @ Evo Stone
Natural Cure / Bold

Wish
Protect
Seismic Toss
Toxic

I thought he meant dropping Wish and adding Defense Curl on the above set. My mistake.

Communication is key!

Baton Pass is illegal on Speed Boost Blaziken. All Dream World Torchic are male, and Baton Pass is an egg move.

I wasn't aware that DW formats were restricted by what's allowed in Standard formats.

Guess I better get rid of Regeneration Ho-Oh.

As far as Terakion goes, why isn't there a Double Dance set? Terakion is like, one of the rare Pokemon who can actually run a Double Dance set effectively, since STAB Fighting and STAB Rock is amazing coverage. Nobody uses Claydol anyways.

Also, Earthquake and Close Combat provide such excessive coverage that I really don't see the need to use Earthquake. I guess to hit Magneton for 4x supereffective damage or something? I'd throw like, Quick Attack or something? Just to get a jump on weakened-enough Pokemon? Or maybe Rock Slide, since Stone Miss only has 8PP.

Being able to boost twice doesn't really matter when you get OHKO'd by Roobushin anyway.

If ScarfTar in gen IV was so dominant, I find it hard to see something with twice the speed and even more power be pretty bad.

What does standard Ononokusu run? Outrage, Earthquake, and beyond that I don't even know what Ononokusu has in a movepool--or lack of. How does Scarf deal with Nattorei?Skarmory?

Edit - I think Ononokusu has Taunt, but I really hope nobody is using Scarf Taunt.

You're wrong, it's actually pretty good.
If ScarfTar in gen IV was so dominant, I find it hard to see something with twice the speed and even more power be pretty bad.
-Poor movepool + inability to go mixed unlike most dragons makes it too predictable
-97 base speed isn't going to be sweeping anything anytime soon
-Poor defenses which means it gets owned pretty hard by priority (which is common) or pretty much anything faster than it
-Gets dominated by pretty much any weather team

Overall it's just flat out inferior to Garchomp, Latios, Salamence, and even Dragonite in nearly ever way.

It is a pretty good stall breaker though. I think the Taunt version is the best Onono set out there. It owns my main defensive team pretty hard.

Oh and ScarfTar is a much better option in Gen 5 than ScarfOnono thanks to Sandstream, superior defenses, lack of predictability, better typing, and Pursuit which is more important than ever thanks to Shandy and Latios running around everywhere now.

@lum berry.
Mold breaker
nothing resists besides skarmory

only think that really causes it a problem is nattorei running gyro ball
and skarmory but its pretty rare and you can just taunt it
weather ***** everything anyways.

REgardless, its an OU pokemon without doubt.

But if you're running Dragon Dance, why wouldn't you just use Salamence? Stealth Rock weakness is irritating, yes, but you could actually get rid of Skarmory / Nattorei / Bronzong with Fire Miss or Flamethrower.

Also, Shedinja resists. :troll:
