00-Zero: Just a quick note, in the MM, you rushed him for a grab and got hit by the bacon/frying pan flames. Any time g&w pulls out the bacon it should be an auto-grab., If you are dashing in for a grab, no reason for it not to be a power-shield grab.

Another quick note: at 1:00 on your second match againt MK, a running upsmash would have made the match a hella lot easier. Gj winning either way though.

I also noticed that you were really really grabhappy on CS s a whole, particularly near the end. I think better players will punish that a lot more.

I also wanted to point out that it is alright to post videos where you don't win. I think the feedback you'll get from those will be more useful to you than the feedback you'd get from that video of three-stocking falco (in addition to being more usfeful to the boards).

Thanks for posting!

Thanks for the advice.
I'm always grab happy in friendlies though, especially if I see that they aren't trying too hard to avoid it.

But yeah. I'm not the least bit hesitant to post videos of me losing :). That's why I posted my match with Nick A. I would have posted the first match that I lost in the MM if it were able to be saved at the time.

Thanks, helpful stuff. I keep screwing up in IC's Chaingrabs. I can down through CG, and the down throw nana Fair, but not the forward grabs when popo and nana alternate grab... Which is probably the best one... I'll get it down but it's a little tough. Overalll I think the IC are a good character but I'm just not too skilled with them yet. Then again I'm decent for having the game 2 weeks.

i can't say much about the match up, but i what i do * could be wrong* is get rid of all her armor except for once piece. with this piece, i will hold onto it till i can throw it and know i can land a grab.

what i do at times with items is glide toss motion. causing nana to dash forward and i input a grab. i usually get the grab. the only thing they can do to avoid the item and the grab is jump. follow their jump with a spaced bair, nair, i don't care :p

I would do what Travv said, except use that one armor piece to desynch. Also, I felt you could have used the environment better, you stayed on the second transformation for the majority of the match, so you could have easily made an IB trap at the bottom part of the stage and use that to get an advantage (like UAir traps, or just more time to plan.)

Just my four cents. :x

Here's some videos from about a month ago.
This is the prime example of why Link is an annoying match if they're good.
00-Zero :popo: vs Pulse 1 :link2:
I hated not having my phone on me at the time. Worse song ever imo XD
00-Zero :popo: vs Pulse 2 :link2:
00-Zero :popo: vs Pulse 3 :link2:
*Fix'd8
P.S. We just played a bunch of tourneys at a recent tourney that weren't recorded and I did much better this time around XP
I'm much better at chaining Link now, too.

I could still use some advice on the match-up though.

zero, the first vid i'm watching is the 3rd and i can already tell, 1 minute in how the link plays. You need to learn to read, even under pressure. players with projectiles get in the worst habits, they will start doing something to give them time to think of something, It's how some IC's will desync IB to buy them time of what to do in a few seconds. you need to pick up on their habits.

i just watched another 30 seconds of it and i called 80% of what the link was going to do in that 30 seconds.

and seems like there was some slow reaction time during some of the match. We all have that, just pointing it out.

Learn to know what options they have. think of it as an ABC, they will either do an A, a B, or a C. this is thinking ahead and will vastly improve your game.

This is a major thing in FPS games. that's why i can relate it to smash. xD

dont be afraid to z catch some of the bombs.

and i see that you're just dashing for grabs and you'll get dsmashed or fsmashed. bait the grab.

GIMR,

If those were your pairings for R1 and R2, ****. Those pairings were hard as ****.

Otherwise, I hope you got some more matches in as well.

Comments to come.

GIMR, notes on NEO match:
Why are you approaching while you're ahead, Marth has an impossibly hard time getting in on a synched climbers. Desynching as you move towards him is a bad idea, marth can nair or fair nana and then go eat her. You got VERY lucky a few times that he missed the spikes on her, as well as him not grab release spiking your SoPo giving you free %.

You did REALLY well against candy, if you played just a teensy bit more conservative (NOT campy, conservative) you would've had the set I think.

Rounds 3 and 4 of winners

Yeah I got a little lucky against NEO. The reason I approached while I was ahead is because last time he timed me out(About 7 months ago) it was because I was ahead and started to run away, I felt approaching him while he got overly aggressive would do me better.

Yeah against Candy I lost focus. It was REALLY hard to mentally keep up what I was doing.(Watching and counting his grenades, shooting iceblocks, insta-throwing his grenades back, approaching at only opportune times, keeping him in the air, predicting the B-stick)

The grenade camping really mentally fatigues me. If I didn't get scared and stupidly break my shield as a result of my scared camping I could've won

I wouldn't ask people to critique matches that were not serious to you, then expect serious/actual input.
And why is that?

We were both trying to win. Just not as hard as we might if we were at a tournament. I wouldn't play ICs at a good tournament yet anyway. Just seeking tips.
