ROB was kind of in a bad position with the leaks.
He was the last character to be unlocked, so rob was the make or break of the "Final 4/5" rumor. When the "All characters unlocked" message appeared after he was unlocked, a few people got very salty, blaming him for "taking up a slot"

I'm going to admit that I was wrong about ROB. I hoped and thought he would be cut, and i'd definitely take Lucas, Ice Climbers, or Wolf over him, however, at the end of it, the ROB supporters won, and I have come to fairly confess my loss.

Personally, I feel that ROB is probably THE most underrated character to ever appear in the series. A lot of folks wrote him off as a joke, but he was SO much fun to play in Brawl. I was the only one of my friends to use him.

All those ROB haters seem to forget that the little robot pretty much saved Nintendo and the gaming industry as a whole from the gaming crash of 1983. The zapper gun with Duck Hunt did the same, so I never understand people who claim that these characters don't deserve in.

Yeah, some people resent his inclusion because last time he took Ridley's/(insert most wanted here) place.

I expected ROB to be back as well, but wasn't 100% sure. However, ROB is basically in a similar place as G&W, a retro character that was also a peripheral so I really doubted that they would get rid of him.

And I just have to make fun of this: some people thought that because the Jet Pack item resembles ROB's Up B he was good as gone.

Ill admit, It made me worry about ROBs inclusion, but I realized that the item does not replace a recovery, merely assists it. On a side note, I realized how funny ROB would look wearing a jetpack. xD
