Not sure if this is the correct subforum but I don't see any posts for it yet! I'm a player from the DotA 2 community trying to spread some hype. Feel free to move this/remake this into something better looking/delete it if it breaks any rules. This isn't meant to be something official, just a discussion/hype post. So I'm sorry if I did anything wrong.
The Smash Summit core tournament info:
- November 5th through 8th (4 day LAN)
- $12,000 Prize pool, with crowdfunding available to grow the prize pool (https://smash.gg/summit for info)
- 4 Top players globally are invited and flown to the BTS house for the LAN
- 6 players nominated by the community also brought in (voting starts in ~50 hours, register now!)
- Player interviews and extra stream content
- Fluff stuff (screwing around and such, it's not always serious faces at The Summit)
- Probably more that I'm forgetting
Be sure to read the website. Smash pros: Get your fanbase to support you to solidify a spot on the nominations board! There's an email address at the bottom for top players to get their name added to the nominees list. Sign-ups are live!
BeyondTheSummit, originally a startup casting group for DotA 2, has opened its arms to welcome Smash players and fans by hosting The Smash Summit 2015 LAN. This LAN will feature 4 invited top players and 6 players chosen by the community. For full, exact details on the event, go to https://smash.gg/summit as advertised by BeyondTheSummit. The player nomination period starts in 2 days. Get hyped!

The DotA community will be behind you guys with support, but this is your community tournament. Not ours. Spread the word, generate hype, make sure your favorite player(s) are on the nominees list if they're not a direct invite.
