I figured this would be a much easier way to arrange the XBL tournaments and a way to keep tourney discussion away from actual discussion of the game.
For PSN users, ethanrodgers has got you hookup up.

Here's where to discuss our first SWF SCIV tournament coming up. -Date Undecided-
And hopefully many to come.

This can also be a place for XBL users to meet up and have a match while waiting for tournaments to start. Just say so in a post and wait for others' reply.

Here's an example of the info I'll need.

It looks like Soul Smash number one is yet to be decided.

I figure since this is a Smash driven community, and a Soul Calibur based tournament, then "The Soul Smash" was fitting. If anyone opposes this, or can think of a better name, then feel free to give ideas/opinions.

Nobody opposed, so this is the official name given. First post edited accordingly.

We'll decide on the official rules later, but for now I'm gonna assume that only one character can be used per tournament.
I'm not looking for mains, but rather who you want to use for the first tournament.

If you could edit your post, I'd appreciate it.

They probably don't even know about it and they might not even be online. Infact it's late over here.
Imo I think it should be on sunday or late saturday (today), to give people a chance.

I'll give it a shot, I've been playing this game more than smash lately anyway. Even if the tourny doesn't go down, this can still function as an online matchup thread. Most people are out on Friday and Saturday, so a day and half's notice isn't going to get alot of people.

The accepted tournament standard format is PS3. Just throwing that out there.

The PS3 is the standard for offline tournaments because of the versatility is has with inputs (pads, controllers, etc). At least that was my impression. For an online tournament, I don't think it would matter.

But maybe you should direct the new users to our thread, so I can have every Soul Calibur 4 player listed. Could you just provide a link, and say something like, "First, register here: (link)"

It would be greatly appreciated. :)

Although, I hope they don't close this. It would be "cleaner" if it was all on one thread, so...


But if it stays open, less work for me!

Have you decided on a date yet? I think the middle of the week would be good, anyone interested would have seen this by then ( I know for a fact there are some SWFers that play SCIV but haven't posted in either of these topics).

It wouldn't hurt to specify that this is an XBL tournament in the OP. I know it's there, but make sure its more noticeable!

Hey, instead of doing a tourney, why not set up a leauge?

I'll do it if you want me too.

I don't wanna steal your fire tho, lol.

Just have the people who are gonna play sign up by a certain date.

Then when you get all the people in the league, put there names and who they have to play in the first post, when the match is finished take it down and make a note of who won and lost.

Then repeat the match ups until everyone has played eachother 2 or 3 times.

I figure each league could go on for like a week or 2?

Maybe longer.

And, if we get enough players, we could have a playoffs with a stanley cup final!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
