You may have noticed a lack of a certain favorite (<3) social forum.
For those who haven't figured it out, there has been a recent fusion of the former Gentlemen's Club and the main Atlantic South forum, as explained in the 3rd paragraph of this announcement.
"New" protocol for this board will be a combination of the two previous boards. This will serve as the place to organize rides, smashfests, power rankings, and other smash related, area specific functions--except for tournaments. This will also be the place for general social discussion, so things like the YLYL thread and nonsmash/silly topics are encouraged as well. Quite literally, the Atlantic South forum is taking the functions on of both former forums.
Keep in mind that the Global Rules still apply, as they did in both of the old forums; hence the term Global, yea?

[collapse=Former outdated post]The Atlantic South boards are designed to be an organized forum for local smashfests, local tournaments, organizing rides to major national tournaments, and Power Ranking discussion. Out of the dicussion spawned crew threads, state discussion threads that go off topic a lot, and social threads that don't belong on in the forums. So these threads have been getting locked and infractions have been given out for getting "off topic" and for spamming.
But the forums are for the community, and you are the community; "if the forums are ours to enjoy, why do we get infraction points for enjoying them and being sociable?" That is a common sentiment that we have been hearing more and more, and it is a very logical point. So here is the new Atlantic South social board, a forum where you can make threads about music that you like, threads for other online games you want to play with other people from Atlantic South, state-specific or area-specific discussion threads that can get off the topic of just Power Ranking discussion, car rides, local announcements, and anything else that would earlier get locked for being "out of place" (as long as it doesn't include inappropriate material; still no drug talk, sex talk, etc.)
This is in an effort to both keep the Atlantic South boards organized and also to give you all the kind of free-form discussion that you want. We would like to keep tournament discussion (including local/regional/national tournaments), Power Ranking discussion, and scheduled smashfest discussion in the Atlantic South board, and then crew discussion, state off-topic discussion, and social threads in the new Atlantic South social board.
You will note that post count is disabled in this new room, but that only makes sense, because you'll be allowed to post a lot and often. It will still be moderated by your Atlantic South moderators, and it isn't a place for you to make ten topics in five minutes, flame or fight with other members, or spam like crazy (because it should still be organized), but it is definitely another step towards making Smashboards more user-friendly.
=============================
Basic Rules:
1. No flaming: the social room is more relaxed than the ATL South forums, but that doesn't mean you will get away with insulting or flaming other members. Same punishments as always. Please don't "brawl v. melee."
2. No illegal content: no discussion of alcohol/tobacco/drugs, no discussion of porn, no discussion of illegal activity. Even if you're of age. Same punishments as always.
3. Avoid making repeat topics: these will most likely just get closed and a link will be posted to the other one.
4. Try to stay organized: don't double post if you can just edit, even though post count is disabled. Please don't make topics with excessive characters in the titles.
5. Topics should have a purpose. "Favorite video game," is acceptable. "BLABBABLBOOB" or random **** is not. 4chan meme's will be embarrassingly edited to make you look stupid or to make me look awesome.
Rules can/will be added as they're necessary.
If you've got any questions, fire away.[/collapse]
