I wasn't sure if this was the right forum, but I figured I'd try here.

So my one of my wavebirds has maybe kicked the bucket, but I don't want to throw the towel in yet. My control stick keeps going into neutral as soon as the controller is turned on. We tried resetting the controller, turning it off then turning it on, and replacing batteries but nothing worked. I just opened the badboy up and I cleaned out some dust and hairs, but I want to know if there is something else I should try before I close it up. Thanks for the help.

Make sure you're not pressing it in any direction when you turn it on or the base thing in, or that'll make that direction the new neutral. :\

My Wavebird started dying on me last week. Sometimes you could only move it left and right, while up and down just didn't respond. Other times, the hand on the character select screen would literally "slide" around when you tapped the stick in a direction. A dreary night it was that I had to lay it to rest.
