What is spikes and what is meteor smashes

i cant figure out what is spikes and what is meteor smashes?
And how many of each is it?
And how can you tell what is what on the most easy way?

Spikes:
Falco DAir
Marth DAir

Meteor Smashes:
CF DAir
Marth FB3D

Spikes and meteor smashes both send the opponent rapidly downwards. Meteor smashes can be meteor cancelled in Melee, while spikes cannot be cancelled until the hitstun is over.
