HEY GUYS,
I WAS JUST WONDERING...WHAT'S GONNA HAPPEN TO THE SMASHBOARDS WHEN THE LONG-AWAITED BRAWL FINALLY REACHES STORES?

I MEAN:
-there will be no new updates
-there will be less people signing on
-most of the humor of the site will be gone
-there will be no sense of unknowing
-nobody will be able to make predictions anymore
-and everybody will be too busy playing brawl to give a crap about the site


WILL THE SITE BACKFIRE???

Have you ever even looked outside of the Brawl section? I mean, there's still discussion about SSB64. What makes you think we won't see the same with Brawl?

All Brawls secrets and unlockables will be posted here, more than likely. So a lot of people will still be using this site. Plus, you're just weird if you're going to be playing brawl 24/7 and doing NOTHING else.

in all seriousness. smashboards wasnt made to wait for the games. its to delve into them, discover new things, discuss them and participate in the competative smash community



so yes, it will close when brawl is released

C'mon, Brawl unlockables will probably be listed up here, and besides...look at the rest of the forums:
Poke Center, Melee Discussion, SSB64 Discussion, Video Discussion.
I'd say SWF is NOT gonna backfire.

Yes, many of were smashboards people long before Brawl (or even the wii) was announced.

In all seriousness, I think that the boards, nay, I know that the boards will function like always. I mean, after Melee came out, the boards didn't self-implode.
Things will be fine, don't worry on it. :)

Failure.... BREAK THE TARGETS!........................ um any way no everyone will still discuss tournaments, techniques, share videos... when brawl comes out the amount of members will probably quintuple ( though most will be smash noobs >.>)

My bad guys, i knew the site was around before the brawl hype, but as you can see, i'm a n00b, and just joined 2 days ago.

I hadn't seen much else than brawl dicussion, and i was just wondering if the site might even self-implode after brawl's release because of over-use

anyway, i'm surprised my thread gained 2 pages in 15 minutes

(and yes, people who try to up their count really "boil my onions"

It only got so much posts because it's a silly little idea, and that attracts posters here. The Brawl rooms are filled with n00bs and flammers.

...I is a n00b.
Don't feel to bad though, most people here are nice and sane enough. :)
Also, I now copywrite "Boils my onions".

What's your point? Everyone will be logging on thinking that they were the first to discover something groundbreaking, only to have their thread closed by the g-panion cube or one of the other million mods for the Brawl rooms.

Like I said earlier, look around the site more, there are rooms to talk about art, writing, games, and just everyday life.

Uh, seriously, though. SmashBoards will not die for a looooong time. MELEE lasted 7 years, and it was rushed/sucked kinda. Imagine how long Brawl will last, with customizable stages, and such!

But in all seriousness, the boards will probably be as, or if not, more active when Brawl is released. We will be discovering new stuff, discussing strategies, and lots, lots more.
