What's your Specialty?

Do you specialize in spamming, close combat, defense, evasion, etc.? I'm just curious to what fellow brawlers specialties are.

I am a defensive/close combat brawler. I destroy all approaches against me, and I punish hard.

So what's your strong point(s)?

Shield grabbing. Whenever I shield an attack (Instead of sidestepping/roll dodging/air dodging/jumping), I almost always try to grab the opponent immediately afterwards. It's starting to become kind of a habit.

I'm also a bit aggressive, so I guess I'm more of a close combat person rather than a camper/projectile user.

My first main was Pit. I was pretty good; I could beat all of my friends (except when they played MK). I used his Mirror Shield quite a bit to avoid a lot of ground sweep attacks and projectiles. Now I use Peach and Marth.

Spamming is "bad" in Brawl, yes. However, one notable thing to consider (and I considered this when I mained Pit) is if your opponent will just let you pwn them w/ light arrows, do it. It's shameful, but overall, yeah it's effective. I'm no noob, I was excellent w/ Pit aerial game, but if they won't come to me and fight me, I'll camp and spam. It's a simple strat. really: arrow spam at ledge. Opponent is forced to come up-close to try to punish spam (because noobs just spam til they're smashed). Smash opponent off stage. Use aerial moves to keep them from recovering. But, I think I play defensive overall. I always have to do the second move; meaning I can't charge the attack, usually.

Faux-offensive/Momentum-based player
I'm also grabby and like playing off-stage.

At the core, I'm an aggressive-defensive player. I'll run, jump, attack, whatever, and make it look like I'm approaching, and after the first move (or.. lack of it) is made by the opponent, I try to start my pressure game. I feint and fake movements ALOT. I'm really momentum based though, so if I get a good start and 3 interruptions/hits, I'll probably have that stock. But if I slow down or the opponent starts to reverse it, I really am at a loss sometimes.

I guess I'm good at adapting to my character's playstyle. When I play as DK I do a lot more tilts and fewer specials than when I would play as Pikachu. When I play as Olimar I use more grabs and less aerials than when I play as G&W. So I guess I have no specialty because you can't play the same with different characters.
