Yes I know this is a stupid thread but usually in video games you might jump with the control stick, and in others, different buttons. But I wanted to know which is more comfortable for Brawl.

I am going to take a leap into a dark cave: analog.

That is, of course, my personal preference. I used the analog stick to jump since SSB64, and I can't effectively use X/Y to jump in Melee. It's so bad, I can't even beat the CPUs if I use X/Y... Well, maybe level 1 or something, I have only tried on 9 and I never have an issue when playing "normally."

I'll just say that whatever you did in Melee would naturally be more comfortable.

Edit: And you can bet tap jumps are going OFF first thing when I get the game, I am breaking that bad habit as soon as I get Brawl!

I've never been comfortable with analogue jumping and I'm very glad you can turn it off in brawl. I've had too many instances with accidentally jumping when trying to pull off a spin attack on the ground.

X/Y, im just so used to short hopping that way, plus analog jumping messes up my Utilts sometimes.

if you don't like using a seperate button to jump you could always use the wiimote on its own. With the d-pad +up as jump it could feel more like a traditional fighter (control wise).

I dunno... anyway I like the x button better :psycho:

I must be the only person on this entire forum that used analog jumps. Makes me question switching over for Brawl... sacrifice efficiencyjust to be different? Naaah.

Yea, I had the same problem. In melee for some reason I just became comfortable jumping with the control stick, not x. I mean I could still shorthop with the control stick, but I couldnt wavedash with it lol. But when my friend got japanese brawl, I tried turning off up on the control stick to jump, but I just ended up suiciding way too much.

But yea, I personally since I'm so used to control stick to jump, Would not turn off the analog jump. Instead what I do Is i just use x only for shorthops, and control stick for everything else. So maybe use.. both?

*When I say "control stick" I mean analog jump.

I use the analog for all my basic recovery jumps, but I've gotten used to using x/y for short hops and aerials. Will be the first thing I turn off when I get my controller configured.
