You coulda phrased it in a more polite manner (even if I did delete the angry part of yer post on the quote there). Even if I may be a couple pages late from that post you made, it was long, and it frustrated me a tad.

I hear what yer saying for though, however some may be outa context, to a degree you are correct.

There are some people seem afraid of loosing aspects of the game and are not pleased with the way things are turning out for Brawl. But even these nay sayers will turn around once the game comes out, and if not then so be it.

I think anyone can agree though that there are still plenty of updates to go before people should consider making large deals about what will be in brawl, and I'm not just talkin about the wavedashing thing, but just everything in general.

I'm happy that the only complaint I have about brawl (besides it not being out now!!!) is not getting enough info. 1 update a day is not enough!

Sakurai is going to give the people what they want. And true... this game may be geared to a more casual audience... and may be different than melee in many ways... but you must look at this aspect with EXCITEMENT, not fear. The competitive smash community will evolve through brawl just as the smash series will.

Yes, I am looking with fear, but just on that one update. Brawl could still be a good game. Even without Zamus its still decent. However, having Zamus unavailable for non-item matches hurts Brawl bad. There is still many days to go, there is still a chance.

This one should at least score a good lol. If not, as John stated before, "you're not human".

Dude, you can only use the FS ONCE per match, that means you have to be lucky enough to GET IT FIRST and THEN you get to play ZSS. But suppose a FS ball doesn't drop until you have 1 life left? How are you going to main ZSS?

Halo is awsome, and nothing beats a LAN party with your friends. Especially when one of them plays it like 10 hours a week and you beat them, and go on a 20 kill killing spree. Good times, good times! Halo is awsome...watch me get killed by fanboys everywhere, and Halo 2>Halo 1...I wonder how Halo Wars (the RTS Halo) is going to turn out.

Regarding Scrubs/n00bs and their flaming on both sides
While I try not to act like a scrub, I am sad to admit that when I get riled up, I act like one, and for this I apologize. I only oppose some things because in a way, somethings that affect competitive play can affect casual, and visa versa. The people I really hate are the jerks who want to change things merely because they're jealous of the competitive players and want to see them getting screwed over. They're the ultimate scrubs, IMO.

Regarding Dylan
I'm going to reserve judgement on this one. While at first I thought he was a jerk, he has made amends (and so has I hopefully) but I still am a little cautious. I don't know wheather this change of heart was because he really thought I was an intresting debater, or because his *** was yay close to getting banned and he wanted to look better. Again, I'm not saying either way until he comes back, in which case, I'll know for sure.

Reguarding Zamus
No matter what the public opinion is on this latest news, I still say I like the concept. To each his own.

You have to understand, some mods (no names) hate Dylan's guts for reasons I'm not willing to put out on these forums. You know what he was banned for?

Name calling.

BTW, the name calling in question was "scrub", which probably shouldn't count as an insult any more than "tourneytard". A scrub is someone who builds up rules that hinder him from being the best he can possibly be. From what I could tell, the people he called scrubs fit the definition perfectly. That name calling wasn't spiteful, it was truth, plain and clear.

I also went over his posts. He didn't call people names often at all. Most of his posts were completely civil and reasonable. This was a change I hadn't seen in him before, and I found it to be quite agreeable.

Look at his first post, then look at the rest of them. Quite a difference, wasn't there? He was just upset at the update because it limited the choices for the competitive crowd because there are most likely going to be no items in tourney play for Brawl. Now I have complete faith in Sakurai for him to do the right thing. After all, Melee may have been amazing, but isn't he the man who created the game? Give him a little credit, people. However Dylan, being a bit more of a pessimist than I, didn't quite manage to see the silver lining or ignored it.

As a result, he gets crucified?

The meat of the thread looks a whole lot to me like what happened in Jerusalem about 2k years ago.

Hmm...come to think of it, there are QUITE a few similarities there. Not the least of which being that the scrubs of today and the Pharisees of then had the same catch-phrase:

"Screw the money, we have rules!"

Sounds a whole lot like a scrub mindset.

Now to go to a different aspect, tell me, who deserved a banning more, Shakezoola or Dylan? Just ignore Mewcario, he's an *******. Considering that he was wrong, repetitive, unreasonable AND extremely vulgar in his posting, I'd vote for Shakezoola. I didn't see any of the above in Dylan's posts.

Melee is generally regarded as a better game than SSB, which is absolutely not the case for Halo 2 and Halo 1. The only people who prefer Halo 2 are terrible--which is to say, an awful lot of people.

the way i see it, Dylan received the ban mearly out of participation. The other party (not sure if it was one or more) [all] received PERM bans, while Dylan will return on Monday, which was stated in a post made by a friend.

As for the Zamus thing, I'm somewhat disappointed in Sakurai for limiting some of the playability. He's given no hints to the fact that Zamus is available from the start of the match. As for those who think it will be just like the Sheik thing, it's similar, but it's still different. Sheik can be swapped in and out of at any time during a match, completely different then the Zamus transformation which only happens when she uses her final smash. One thing we don't know is whether she will change back or not when she dies, although that part doesn't matter as much since items are banned in tournies anyways (unless the back room rules in favor of the smash ball, but I think someone already posted saying they banned it).

I seem to recall a post a while back posted by Scav(I think?) saying that the back room ruled out the smash ball, although it's somewhat obvious that items would be removed again for the same reason they were taken out in melee.

one thing I guess in Zamus's favor is that she is under the newcomers,so I guess that should give people the hope that she MAY still be selectable from the getgo.

Sometimes, yes. As in, inappropriate. Could be ill-timed (repetition), ill-placed (making other threads go off-topic) or said in an aggressive manner (flames woo). I don't know exactly what Dylan did, but my guess is that it had something to do with these, as somehow his behavior was making it difficult for people to get along, and it was deemed to be more his fault than anyone else's.

Speaking your mind can be very dangerous.

More on topic, though, I'm not worried about Brawl sucking at all, because (a) I'm not that good, (b) we have the same guy working on it as last time, and (c) everything which people are complaining about either isn't important to the game or is like being scared of the bogeyman. Sure, there's a slim possibility that everything might be as bad as you imagine, but... no one's seen the bogeyman!

[edit] Yes, if Dylan wanted to he can read everything here. Even if you ban the IP he could still go to an internet terminal somewhere or use a friend's computer. If you simply ban the user that just prevents him from logging in, and he could still read the forums as a guest.[/edit]

He gets banned because when people start to tick him off, he lets them have what they deserve, and that usually results in some infraction in one form or another.

Which isn't all that bad, really--he has a lot to say and is spot-on correct in most situations; it's just that he goes a pinch too far sometimes.

P.S: Wait--he got banned for calling someone a "scrub"? There were, like, ten others of us using that term in here at the same time he was...it seems kind of weird that he got an infraction and not us.
