Exactly. I believe that opening up the youtube links should be acceptable.. Yes, they are not on par with smashboards rules all the time, but it isn't like easily-offended people need to click every link.

In the rare case of an overly offensive video, somebody will say something, and a mod could take action then... I don't see that happening, though. This doesn't seem all that different than posting vids on other threads around here...

I see this thread as a quick way to find something funny.. and if videos were opened back up, all the better.

I just watched akira on youtube yesterday; I also watched 'the thing' a few weeks ago. Excessive gore and in some cases nudity do get by on youtube.

none of which have any business being posted here

the thing i don't get is i seriously doubt you expect anything inappropriate to be posted in video form from youtube, yet you still try to make a problem out of it, why?

when videos were allowed, inappropriate videos being posted was never a problem.
the only reason they stopped allowing them was because the general consensus was that most of the video's didn't have you rolling on the floor.
which the same can be said for pictures

difference is when you've got people constantly saying 'that vid was lame, that vid was lame', which they did for pictures but got told off for it, it gets to the point where when a video doesn't make you laugh, it all the sudden then was a waste of 3:40 seconds of your life.

and i'm not sure if they briefed you on your duties of being a mod, but i don't think it included just sitting around in a YL:YL thread waiting for someone you don't like to post a link and then infracting them. seems like now that you may actually have to do some work you aren't liking that red name so much

youre missing the point lol. this has nothing to do with mommy and daddy and everything to do with the fact that SWF governs themselves and they can run the place however the **** they want.

ty for proving my point though, that there really isn't a backing for this 'rule' and it's more of just a preference thing

that logic is flawed, I could post a picture of a aborted fetus and say "if this dosent make you lose, or its offensive, then the point is proven."

why do you think roll even asked how we felt about video's being allowed seemingly 'at random'

and that being said, he asked how we felt about video's being allowed, so i don't see how i'm out of line for explaining how i feel

I asked it at random, literally. The only reason I thought about it is because you guys were doing pretty well with pictures and you weren't spamming videos every three seconds, so I thought I'd see about getting the rule taken away; I can't look in forum support lol.
