Looking back, nearly a decade on, Sakurai seems proud of Melee overall. "Melee is the sharpest game in the series," he wrote. "It's pretty speedy all around and asks a lot of your coordination skills. Fans of the first Smash Bros. got into it quickly, and it just felt really good to play."

But wasn't meaning that with my post... was meaning the fact that he said Brawl was made to be easier than Melee by intention.

Or we could just stfu about the Melee vs Brawl discussion and enjoy our thread.

People play Melee.
People play Brawl.

They're both good and they're both bad.

No one makes a game to make it bad. Some games just end up turning bad same thing with games being good. Just because Sakurai tried to make Melee the sharpest doesn't make it the best.

massivley nerfing characters does not make a better game.

clearly a sharp game is a good game,i believe they call this..."depth"...

or do you think that also dosent make a game good?

The interview says that Melee was geared towards the hardcore player, being harder to pick up and play. This mean that it's harder to play, not that it's better.

I believe a game with depth is better than a game without.

Only being able to win with Jiggs sounds like a game with less depth than a game where Diddy Kong, Metaknight, Snake, and Falco wins tournaments.
