Just for the fun of posting this and realising how far off I am when the actual lists come out in many many months time.

It's because of his explosives, probably.

I don't know if I can evaluate the whole thing, but I think I can rank depending on the characters I have played the most so far.

Toon Link and R.O.B. should definitely be near the top: they have a LOT of options in terms of what they can do in a given situation.

Wolf should be high mid-tier. He's strong, relatively fast, and his ground game is fantastic, but his range off of the ground is a bit too lacking to be useful.

Lucario should be mid-tier. He can be a comboing beast, but his killing power only really arises when he's badly damaged. I can't really see him being effective except in a dangerous zone. His ground smashes are also deceptively long, but the opponent figures this out very quickly, so the range advantage sort of disappears and you have to being relying on his much quicker tilts.

Ganondorf should be low tier. His lag and overall lowered knockback hinders him greatly, but the mindgames you can play with his forward+B makes up for a lot of it. Still kinda sucky though, but I love playing with him nonetheless.

I think Bowser can be lower mid-tier. He's still got a lot of strength, but now he's beastly strong and his range has been boosted like craaaazy. He's also a bit faster, and his Bowser Slam is great for confusing the crap out of the opponent. My favorite improvement is the speed of his u-air: a very quick and unexpectedly powerful killer.

I think Ike will be mid-tier or upper mid-tier. You have to do a bit of damage to the opponent before you start getting dangerous, although it's not very much. Plus, his massive range and knockback gives him a lot of breathing room to set up attacks. On the other hand, all of his start-up makes him difficult to work with, especially if you're being peppered with lots of quick attacks, so sometimes it's really hard for him to get going.

I think, after Melee, All Characters are deadly enough in the right hands. Wolf should be top teir, do to his shielding capabilities. THat blaster of his is dead annoying if your charging a smash attack.


Edit: Bowser needs more credit. Now he has BOWSERSIDE!!!!! that flying slam is darn awsome!! i own with him!
