- Sudden Death will not be played. Ties are broken by stock and percentage.
- Items will, of course, be OFF.

Teams(If neccessary)

Format: Standard brackets unless entrant pool is large enough for round robin play.

Elimination: Double elimination.

Special Team Rules:
- Team Attack is ON.
- Life stealing is allowed.

All other rules that apply to singles apply to teams as well.

Stage Selection

- After characters are chosen for the first match, both players can knock out one stage for the duration of the set. Random select stages cannot be knocked out. Stages knocked out do not carry over to continuation sets.
- Unless all players can agree on a stage, the first stage of a regular set will be randomly selected. If the set is a best-of-eleven continuation, the loser of the first set may pick the first stage at the beginning of the continuation set.
- After each match, the loser of the match can counterpick with a legal stage or elect to go random before characters are chosen.
- Stages cannot be played twice unless the current set is a best-of-eleven continuation. The only stages that can be played twice during continuation sets are random stages.
- All players have one reset per set. Resets may only be used on randomly selected stages during the first five seconds of play. The stage cannot be played again when randomly selected, but is still available for counterpicking.

Character Selection

- A double blind pick may be called at any time during any set. Tournament staff will judge the selection.
- After each match, the loser may pick the next stage (or go random). After this decision is made, the winner of the previous match may change characters. Afterwards, the loser of the previous match may change characters.
- Characters may not be changed after a reset is called. Once characters are chosen, the decision is in effect until the end of the match.

Crews(If neccessary)

Please refer to the info packet or the standard Kish-style crew battle system for rules. The one change is that, for simplicity, there will be NO character / player switching. Each player stays in with his or her original character until they are defeated (if they are defeated at all). All stages will be chosen at Random using the Singles Random stage list.

Low Tier(If neccessary)

The eligible characters for this event are listed below. Please use this opportunity to try using some new characters or old favorites and have some fun! (Rock Crock is gonna beast!)

Character Listing:

- Bowser
- Mewtwo
- Pichu
- Ness
- Kirby
- Yoshi
- Mr. Game and Watch
- Young Link
- Zelda
- Donkey Kong
- Roy
- Pikachu

2v2 battle(If neccessary)

Single Match, Double Elimination rules:

- Each team will have their players play single matches (there is no 2/3 or 3/5 matches in this tournament). If your team loses against one team, you are still alive and able to continue in the tournament. But if your team loses twice in the tournament, you are eliminated.
- For example, Winner's Bracket: If Player A of Team 1 defeats Players A and B on Team 2, Team 1 wins against that team and advances on to the next match in the Winner's bracket. Team 2 will also be able to continue in the tourney, but that will be in the Loser's bracket. Don't forget that you still have a chance for 1st place even though you are in the Loser's bracket.
-Stage rules apply for Singles.

Other Rules:

-As you can guess, modded controllers are not allowed. Third-party controllers are allowed, but you cannot use their programmable functions. Disqualification will follow if discovered.

-Of course, you cannot use glitches or stalling to either disable your opponent or indefinately suspend match play. Doing so can lead to match forfeiture or tournament disqualification.

-During Sign ups, You will vote for the side events. Here's the list of events for the day of the tournament...

--Doubles
--Crews
--Low Tier
-- 2v2 Teams

-In an effort to prevent bracket manipulation and to preserve the spirit of the tournament, the following rule is in effect. Matches or entire sets may not, under any circumstances, be voluntarily forfeit by any player for any reason. Match or set forfeiture occurs upon the discovery of a broken rule. Absence from a match or set or voluntary forfeiture will result in total disqualification. Make sure you have a way of being contacted if you happen to be absent from your set when the time to play comes. You can also notify tournament staff if you will be running late beforehand or at any time during the tournament.

-Coaching is allowed between matches, but no mid-match instruction may occur. Talking, sneering, and giggling from coaches is allowed, but coaches can be silenced at the request of any player currently engaged in a set.

-Trash talking IS ENCOURAGED. No fighting, no rough stuff. Be nice, and try to be good about when you lose because (almost) everyone is guaranteed to lose at least once, so just be good about it.

-Please RESPECT the tournament directors/Staff. If by anything you don't obey by that rule. You'll will be ask to leave and you wont get your refund. Just be thankful that the tournament is going on. They could be doing something else right now.

-Please bring your own controller. Please, we're not your parents... WE WONT TAKE CARE OF YOU.

Other Notes:

As I said Beastcoast Productions will be recording the top 8 / quarterfinals on all RanBats and will be uploading in a big movie file on www.combovideos.com. Step your game up if you want to be noticed.

As usual, TVs, GameCubes with copies of the game and fully prepared memory cards will be a great help. Please bring any of these items if you can. If you do, please be sure to mark them in some way, shape, or form so that they can be identified as your own. I will find out how many TVs and Cubes we're gonna need. So stay tuned for that. 1st people that offers will be locked for the Free registration fee as thanks. Others that are too late will be on the waiting list for back-up.

I know some people might need rides.. Well Smashers, if you have a car please post it in the thread and offer rides. Smashers that need rides... Don't be cheap on GAS. Gas doesn't come cheap. Well I know some people are nice enough anyways for the carpool.

This event is going to be on the SmashBoards calendar, so check it out everyday and sign up if you know you're coming.

If you need anymore info contact me via PM for now until I get my phone in the mail sometime this week.

Finally, have lots of fun meeting and battling new players! South Florida(And the state) is stepping its game up, so come out and show your stuff!

Was talking with Nouc today on AIM about tournaments such. We were talking about ZP RanBan and when the next FORT would be... He threw out the idea that the next FORT tournament could possibly count as an official event for the RanBan series. Then we got to thinking- why not have different RanBan events thought the state, similar to MLG's tournaments throughout the US.

I think this would GREATLY add to the number of participants at each event. You might not expect CFL smashers to any tournament of this series, because competing 1 or 2 times will not award enough points. But they would be more willing to travel to SE once, SW once, and of course they would attend the RanBan event in their region. More paticpants = more $$$!!! Plus, it will more accurately rank the players if they actually compete rather than don't because the tournament is too far away :p

This is all under the circumstance that Ic3/ZP is willing to allow the RanBan series to be hosted in different regions...

Well?

Ok just got back from Marc, and he wasn't feeling the idea with the MLG tour style.... He pretty much stated:

"We all should do our own thing, We got our RanBat located in Zero Ping with our own prize support. That's why its called z:p RanBat, not SFL RanBat. RanBat are suppose to be a 1 place thing. Look at DA's tournament for example. the others can throw a RanBat also if they feel. We're doing 4 RanBats(Once a Month) per season. So Jan-Apr we have our RanBats, then they can do whatever."

This Tournament sounds like it is going to be
good, but all ZP Tournaments are good. That
is bad for me, because i'm grounded for life,
but in 9 weeks I will be back, also Wii Tournament
going to start for the new SSBB by that time.
