It occurs to me. Releasing Joker on April Fool's Day (technically before the end of April) with no preamble would be the best possible prank.

I can see it, though it would only affect him. His Down Special could rewind his damage and position to where it was a few seconds before, though it would need a hefty cooldown, or the ability to be knocked out of it.

One that I see often in tournaments is Ink Roller -> Up Smash. It's guaranteed if you can get it before they mash out, but if they're waiting for it, landing the Ink Roller can be hard. Also edge guarding with Splat Bombs is hilarious.

The idea that I had, and I saw someone else with the same thought, was to give them the Bowser Jr treatment. Each skin would be a different Traveler. Of course, that comes with its own complications, but I'm kinda treating it like they've already found the answer to the problem.

If we're talking Squenix, I've been thinking the Travelers might have a decent shot. Octopath was a huge success, and physical copies were selling like hotcakes all over the world. The thing that would really hurt their chances is lacking the pedigree that games like Chrono Trigger and Dragon...

I feel like you're underselling the game a bit. We still don't know the full extent of the menu, Spirits contains an improved version of Events, where the fight is a direct reference to the relevant Spirit, World of Light is a full adventure mode with bosses and mini games and other elements...
