Characters that are a pain to deal with and solutions?

That's true, but you can also charge them briefly when they're stale to beat gordos

Characters that are a pain to deal with and solutions?

I think pit has a favorable matchup on DDD. Reasons: + Arrows will stop gordos + SH fair hits DDD while he's on the ground + Run up full hop nair is good safe pressure + Pit's aerials suck DDD in rather easily because he's so big + Multiple jumps help avoid DDD air pressure + Extra large...

    Character Competitive Impressions

Since we're doing hypothetical tier lists, here's my rather unconventional opinion: (rows in no order) (only default moves taken into consideration) Toppest :4yoshi::rosalina::4zss::4sheik: Top :4greninja::4diddy::4lucario::4sonic: Good...

Meta Two Sides of the Same Coin - Pit/ Dark Pit Meta Game Discussion

Pit's arrows aren't good for ground to ground combat but they are outrageous for gimping and creating mixups for players trying to get back to the stage. A lot of times you can bait someone into airdodging into the ground from half the stage away with an arrow and then follow up with a his dash...

Diddy Observations (and how Villager wrecks Diddy)

G&W's main weakness in brawl was that you can smash di out of turtle. You can't do that in Smash 4 which makes turtle a very effective approach option now

The Heavenly Arsenal: Pit Moveset Discussion

I don't think it's better than the brawl version since it has a lot of recovery frames on it, but the pushing effect is pretty neat. I wonder if you can block some character's up-b from reaching the ledge with down-b. I'll have to mess around with it next time I play

Promotion to Great Lord - Marth Strategy Notes

Can you explain what the IASA frames do on dtilt? Does it cancel the end of the animation when it hits or something else?

    Character Competitive Impressions

A couple characters I think are really underestimated currently are pit and falco Falco has a seriously great boxing game, combo potential from dthrow and uthrow, great hitbox that kills on backair, really good recovery, and a fsmash that's very fast and kills with good range and (arguably) the...

Air Dodge Appears to have an FAF that occurs prior to the Auto-Cancel Window

I'm kind of sad this exists actually. One of the really good changes from brawl to smash 4 is gone now

Is Falco actually bad in this game or is he just being bashed too much?

His reflector is really great in footsies. It goes suuuuper far, farther than it did in brawl. At certain % it starts to cause knockdowns too so it opens opportunities to start damage strings. It's not safe on shield though so be careful. However with such long range and quick speed it's...

My likes and Dislikes of Smash 4 so far (On a competitive aspect)!

I really don't want to derail this thread into a debate about the ledge but here's a summary: Getting the ledge for free took away a deceptively deep part of the smash series. Sure you can intercept midair but you could do that in all the games. Ledgehogging wasn't easy kills, it still takes...

My likes and Dislikes of Smash 4 so far (On a competitive aspect)!

I share all of the Likes in the OP and generally agree this game is a better competitive game than brawl-- but I'm not sold on the ledge mechanics and I think they make the game worse. Also I feel like Brawl generally has more aerials that autocancel but I might be remembering wrong. Or its...

A Strong Body is the Base of a Strong Mind

Another useful trick I found with the soccerball: hang on the ledge, drop down and quickly do a side b. If you time it right she'll poke her head just above the stage, shoot a ball, and grab the ledge again. It's really similar to when yoshi throws eggs onto the stage from the ledge. Anyways...

    Custom Moveset Discussion

Have we considered playing with the default moveset and later on establishing specific official custom movesets for particular characters sort of as a psuedo balance patch
