Official The 20XX Melee Training Hack Pack (v5.0.2 - 1/20/2023)

On the topic of DI options, I noticed that the survival one doesn't work with everyone's throws. I haven't tested it extensively but I know for example that it doesn't work with Fox's upthrow but it does with Falcon's upthrow. I don't know how it's programmed (whether it actually tells the CPU...

Official The 20XX Melee Training Hack Pack (v5.0.2 - 1/20/2023)

He still has to rewrite the codes for these commands for 20XX 4.0+. BTW Achilles, is it possible to give an idea of when we can expect to see some of these CPU toggles yet?

Technical knowledge compilation (Gamecubes, controllers, TVs, recording)

After doing those experiments with cutting down a stickbox's spring, I've been wondering if less spring resistance really does contribute significantly to smash turn efficiency and now I have some more test results. I've just received a brand new white Japanese original controller from Amazon...

Oh, I just remembered the post at the center of part A so a ball wouldn't work any way. And yeah I was thinking of it all wrong. I feel like you're right about wanting resistance in the dead zone, but for some reason I interpreted that as meaning we'd want the resistance to decrease afterward...

Technical knowledge compilation (Gamecubes, controllers, TVs, recording)

This could be it. After looking at parts A B and C and D for a while I wonder if this could be achieved simply by using a spring with a much smaller circumference, or even a small squishy ball that is just the right size. That way, since the new part B is only filling the center of the space...

Technical knowledge compilation (Gamecubes, controllers, TVs, recording)

I decided against taking apart my good one since it doesn't belong to me but I've been considering it. Thanks for the heads up. And yeah, even after originally posting about it I had doubts because it really makes no sense. But I'm still going back to this controller all the time and it's always...

Thanks! I think you are right about the black-bottomed type 3 boxes having thinner springs. I swapped one in (just part A(BC)) and it feels like the same light resistance of the perfect stickbox I mentioned as well as the one I cut down the spring in. Side note: the Wii Classic controller I used...

Kadano, I'm trying to make a perfect controller and the only thing left with it is to make it smash turn well. I have many controllers of various age/use and have tested their ability to smash turn extensively, and one stands out big time -- it's a type 3 stickbox that is fairly broken in...

Work In Progress Perfect setups (TV/monitor, console, capture device)

Oh, holy cow. I didn't realize how similar the Monoprice and E-more are. It's literally the exact same box with different labels. Nevermind! And yeah, Salvato's input delay tester can only tell us so much. But after seeing how Noc ran his tests with it, I think that with enough testing it could...

Work In Progress Perfect setups (TV/monitor, console, capture device)

Thanks! There are a few reasons I chose the VGA005 for now: 1. The price isn't as big of a commitment 2. jmlee337 lag tested it (I know it's extremely unlikely that the CVC 200 will end up having significant lag when it gets tested but it's nice to be sure) 3. I'm only outputting it to a CRT...

Work In Progress Perfect setups (TV/monitor, console, capture device)

Would there be any problem with this set up for playing lagless 480p while streaming? 1. Wii --> Wii component cable --> component distribution amplifier 2. Component distrbution amplifier --> component cable --> Mayflash VGA005 (http://www.mayflash.com/Products/VIDEOADAPTERS/VGA005.html) -->...

    Maximizing Capture Quality of Melee

I just recently got an Elgato Game Capture HD and apparently it's entirely incompatible with AmarecTV. Does anyone know a good alternative?

    ALASKA Smash Thread

Sorry for the late reply dizz, we all talk on our facebook group now (Alaska Smash Group). I don't think there's anyone in Sitka but there are quite a few Project M players in Juneau, maybe there's a quick ferry you could hop on to get there or something. And if you can ever make it to...

Looking for a good tri-wing screwdriver

Good idea Bones. I use a flathead too and it works just fine. You just need a really small one

How do I keep myself motivated?

The best thing you can do is play people who are better than you, if you aren't already. Bonus points if you can record and watch matches against said people
