It still freezes after Press Start.

This is the code I use:

You have to include the number of default stages in the byte count as well. 10 stage lines * 8 = 80, which is 50 in hex.

WOW Holy Hell!! Thanks PW for being full of awesome

Now wait I use Riivolution

@Hozu or anyone that uses Riivolution,
Do I have to edit my xml for this to work?

Also, will this CSS code work with ASF1NK's custom swirling blue CSS or any custom CSS for that matter? It doesn't change the placement of the stages I don't think, It just adds the swirling blue thing

I just want to know before I start trying this and get failed results over and over and asking for help here and it turns out it was one of the two possible problems I stated above.

Also one more, @Eternal Yoshi,
That code you made for the max amount of stages, can I apply any stage to those custom ones or are they set for a specific stage in the code? And will the code mess with any of the custom stages I have over the regular ones already as in make them not work or move them around?

It freezes for me very often, and I don't know why. I fail to find anything wrong in the code I'm using. Maybe it conflicts with some other hack but I don't know.

For those who don't get freezes, test something for me:

- Play 10 matches, only on the extra stages but quit them all in about 20 seconds.
- Select you character then go to the SSS and come back to the CSS three times.

If you don't get a freeze doing those, tell me.

You need to change the customs in the xml from stgcustom1 stgcustom2 ...stgcustom9 to stgcustom01 stgcustom02...stgcustom09 stgcustom0A...stgcustom0E stgcustom10 ...stgcustom25 (for the maximum version). Also do this with the .rels. Diamondbodysharpshooter posted too this effect on an early page.

The CSS is independent of the SSS. So I gather you are asking about the swirling SSS...I don't use this so I can't answer...I'd imagine it would work. You need to use .rels that work with the customs. E.Yoshi posted a link to a pack that had all of them.

I also posted a modified EYoshi's maxed out code that puts all of the Nintendo based stages on page 1 and GreenHillZone, Shadow Moses, and 37 customs on the (formerly) Melee Page. This was hotdogturtle's idea, I just coded the move in the stages. Look a couple pages back for that.

good luck!

and so, I get and don't get the names. Is it STGCUSTOM_01-9, then STGCUSTOM_A-F, and STGCUSTOM_10-etc? or STGCUSTOM0A_01-9, then STGCUSTOM0A_A-F, and STGCUSTOM0A_10-etc?

It is not what base stage he used, it is what stage you are using. For example, if you use any FD based stage, you need to use a rel that converts it from FD to custom. If you use a stage that was built on yoshi's melee, you need to use a rel that converts it from yoshi's melee to custom.

Check Mewtwo2000's stage pack for the proper setup. He uses 4 different rels: one for FD, one for norfair, one for spear pillar, and one for yoshi's melee stages.

Eternal Yoshi, if you can explain the last part of the SSS code to me, I can finish this generator I have.
You mean the very last part of the code? The part that goes like this?

Code:
06407AAC 00000078
01010202 03030404
05050606 07070808
0909330A 0B0B0C0C

46024701 48024901
4A024B01 4C024D01
4E020000 00000000
The value at the end determines how many bytes there are, of course, and is always an even number. Every other value is as follows:

01010202 03030404
05050606 07070808

There are also the songs in Wario Ware's minigames.
Wait a minute, Does K.K. Slider's tracks that only play on Saturday have a Tracklist ID? Perhaps a .....SECRET tracklist?
There are several songs in the game that are in the game, but not used regularly in multiplayer matches. That's why someone should make a code that loads a specified song if a specified stage is played (Based on the stage IDs in RandomTBrush's post). Each level would then have it's own song! Heck, run out of not-used-in-multiplayer songs? Just make the probability of one song in another level turn to 0, and use that one in a custom level! All you'd have to do it just replace the .BRSTM of these songs!

Here are my codes if someone wants to see. I get a freeze after around 4 matches, sometimes it just randomly freezes when entering the CSS for completely no reason.

Also, keep in mind that before adding the last 2 codes, it never froze on me.

I believe that's Hanenbow -> Wifi Training Stage, isn't it?

Well, that may be why all the freezes are happening, since this code is so thorough in saying what icon goes where and which stage goes to which icon. I'd take that code and test it if I were you.

EDIT: Looks like Modset 4.0 is out.

I agree. Too bad I have no knowledge of coding. PW are you still lurking? Anyone else?

Those songs arent in any of the tracklists.
However, I could make a code that does what you want.
But IDK, I am pretty lame, so I probably won't.

Haha.. I was gonna say PW or Dantarion in my post...looks like you got it anyway. If you decide to not be "pretty lame" I thank you very much. If you don't make it, you still have contributed a lot to Brawl so I can't blame you. *tips hat*

I don't have a wii right now.
But, I already found the function in Brawl that you would have to hook into to do what you are asking.

Can anyone confirm if this idea by EY works?

It's a Shadow Moses to custom.rel
Hmm, I'm not sure what you're asking, but I have a delfino stage, and some smashville stages over my customs, so yeah it works. I didn't have to use all 4 versions of smashville or anything though, if that clears anything up.

I don't know. I can't remember if the FULL stage .pac names are hardcoded, or just the suffixes, or if the game uses the special loading routine based on the stage ID.

If its the latter, I should be able to make a code that allows more stages to have this "multipac" support.

In fact, I really want to do that.

So far the code works good for 16 Custom Stages at the Melee Screen. Track List works too, althought it seems that it is not paying attention to my music priority.

Anyway tried returning to the first screen and quiting fast from stage and had no freezes.

Does your old alt stage loader work for the new customs? Would it be able to switch .rel's too? I really want to have a random choice for diff versions of saffron city and for fourside in one slot. (The different rel would be necessary to turn on and off the water collisions for flooded fourside).

Ok, I'm still trying to get this to work, but nothings working. E.Yoshi/amount's code, his (stage) to custom .rels, the correct .rel and pac names, everything is supposedly right. But only some of them work, and one gave me a really freaky result when it did work (Jungle Japes 64 being covered in really high invisible water) .

This is one of the stages I'm trying to get to work that currently freezes my game. I've got E.Yoshi's PirateShip_to_custom.rel for it named st_custom0B, the .pac file is named STGCUSTOM0B, and it still freezes. If someone could give me a walkthrough of how to get this stage working, I should be able to figure out how to get the rest working.

Thanks for the help.

You're using the wrong rel for that one. Notice how ItalianStallion provides you with a rel to make it work over PirateShip in his download? This means that it was not originally on pirates. It probably was based on FD but you would have to ask him. If that is the case, you need the custom rel to be from FD->custom. If this does not make total sense to you, I suggest examining Mewtwo2000's custom pack, as he uses 4 diff stage rels.

Good luck.

Ohhhhh, so that would be what's screwing them all up. Well that would explain it. Thank you very much. Why is it listed under Pirate Ship on BV if its not originally Pirate Ship?

There should be a "base stage" category and a "recommended stage" category on BrawlVault.

Either that or there should be a requirement that makes it so you have to put down the original stage.
