Nevermind.

If anyone would be willing to help me, that would be nice. I just need to know how to actually get the textures to show.

Steelia's folder "CaNr" corresponds to the file PlCaNr.dat in your ISO.

Say you wanted to edit c.falcon's belt.
-edit the .tga file in the folder
-convert to .tcs
-convert to .tpl
-open both the .tpl and PlCaNr.dat in your hex editor
-replace .tpl into .dat file (in the correct place in the file - find out where by looking at Steelia's "placement" file)

-your PlCaNr.dat now has a new belt
-open your ISO in GC-Tool or Rebuilder, and replace your old PlCaNr.dat with your new one
-open ISO in Dolphin to see your new texture

@nube : Woow ! Can't wait to try something with that !!

@Milun : Awesome ! Can you make the opposite ? Put the turtle and the floating platform in the background and keep the main platerform ahead ? Thanks you so much for what you're doing !

Where are these folders? I'm assuming it's a collection of texture locations in the Pl dats? Link plz?

Also just so everyone knows, I'm working on locating a lot of the hitbox data for moves. Once I get a bit further I'll post some addresses and documentation.

^yea. judging from his previous works i think he found a way to easily move platforms around. the turtle is probably trickier because it is not just a simple platform so the hex is probably completely different.

I'm not sure though i haven't dealt with editing stages much, but it would be nice if milun made a guide for his findings so more people can try to edit new stages.

The values being modified are the joint positions within the files, for the ones i have investigated so far....

Uh yes, but the middle platform will have no edges. Moving collisions in stages is actually next to impossible, unless they have a separate offset (hard to explain). Like, the platform in my hack, had a main offset because it moves. As the middle platforms and the side one never move, I can't edit their collisions too well as of yet (results in fall through glitches).

Sorry about that, but I'm working on it, as I am my website which will contain my findings.

Hey, just wanna thank Steelia for the characters and what not for texture hacking.

Made the process extremely easy and much faster than what I would have had to go through.

Thanks, Steelia.

in freaking sane. all of the progress.

also, atm DIOS MIOS is probably not worth the effort <_<
requires sneek, requires you to change your mios, low compatibility, messed up dsp decoding, memory card access could be blocked...

might wanna wait on this one, boys.

I love you TCll. Looking forward to making some awesome hacks with that.
did you nawt read the sign...
jk XDD

I <3 my fans (no homo) >.>

umm...
be careful when editing...

it's a very tedious process as it revolves around raw hex :/

but yea...
1 messup can end up destryoing your file :/
(data length must stay the same)

it's not the best thing, but at least it works...
and it's a method <:|

it was actually simple for me :p
the time that came in was all the testing and programming...
and me not knowing alot about programming XD

if you'll notice...
this is the exact same method I used in brawl...

MDL0 files are WAAAY more complex from dat files :/

umm...
IDK if I still have it <:D

I can easily make another one though...
(hopefully right this time)
^it was supposed to be a remake of my dark Pikachu mesh edit I did in brawl :/
^not released yet >_> (I have images on it)

anyways...
I'll UL later :)

EDIT:
heh...
I make it sound easy...

well...
it it IF you know how to do it right...

the only HARD part is editing the player verts...
(they're offset by the bone groups)

does vertexing mean u can change character models?
Vertex editing involves modifying the vertices of certain polygons. By doing that, you could make a character model resemble a different character. However, the task can be rather tedious, depending on the polygon that you're working on.

This is getting really sick

With the vertex stuff we can actually create whatever we want from a character, cant we ?

Great job Nube finding all the offsets to change colors pretty much everywhere..

What about the shine color though? If im right, i remember Nube (or maybe someone else) saying he was gonna make a small tutorial to explain which offsets need to be change.. Did i miss something or it didnt happen ?

I also need these yoshi cube and the other pikachu..

tcll, do you know if the "larger size" restrictions are because of the files reading vertexes at specific offsets or not?

because if they are, wouldn't it just be a matter of finding out where in the file the offsets are linked from and changing the hex data? i've been thinking about trying that method with .ssm files but i've been too busy with school to try to delve into any hex stuff atm
