The Temple of Time~The Zelda Tournament and Video Archive~


A brand new thread. As the tourney and video threads have fluctuating activities, it was decided by a majority to merge the two together with something more streamlined in which we can organise videos per player, per character and then per tournament. This is a tester thread.

Tournament / Serious Friendly / MM videos are of course a priority, and as such will be organised alongside tournament results. Friendlies and miscellaneous videos, be it wifi, combo or other types of video will be located and archived in the second OP.

Essentially, this intends for tourney players to have their own ‘space’, that is to record their tournament achievements and showcase their videos, and of course to increase activity.

ATTN: Anyone who has results and/or videos can post here. Don't forget you can get yourself critiqued.

So this was probably one of the toughest tournaments I've been to. Ally+5 or so talented players from MD/VA+Michigan's top 3 and of course IL and WI's best. I went Zelda in bracket and pools (mostly). I did have to go Toon Link/Olimar in pools to secure my spot in bracket. I lost to Boss and Fatboy and I'm pretty sure I'm not better than anyone that placed higher than me, so I'm okay with this placement.

I lost to Boss in Winner's. I beat Kappy in loser's then lost to Fatboy after that.

It was a really fun tournament, with all the region rivalries and such going on

I forgot my SD card or I would've MM'd the **** out of everyone. I'm still kinda disappointed I forgot it since it's not everyday that we get EC people to come over. Ah well, there's always next time maybe lol

Anther vs Chu/Boss were probably some of the most intense sets of the tourney!

I haven't seen the set vs. Chu yet (it's getting uploaded soon, he said), but the set he had with Boss was pretty sick.

Next time, you gotta come over here.... Apex, maybe?

He's insane to deal with, and he plays so casually yet the pressure is always on you. Did he go Luigi or Mario?

@KayLo - yeah lol, I only go to school in IL! though I tend to get lazy when it comes to brawl over the summer. we should play though, most def.

@Bandit - he went Luigi both games, up+b is insane. got wrecked first game, and when I thought I had a semi-lead on the 2nd, up+b during my last stock that killed me at 85 :(

@Jujux - there was doubles but I've been out of a steady doubles partner for awhile now :(

I'm going to 2 tourneys, both back to back. One this weekend, the other one is the following week.

Boss reads rolls and tendencies better than I have ever seen someone in this game.

The last time I faced him in regular brawl was over a year ago in a crew battle. His pressure game was so insane, I didn't take a stock with either of my lives. I think I'd do much better now, but it was one of the few times I ever felt helpless.

Also, who doesn't want to team with Zelda in doubles? Girl is crazy good!

Very cool. The "Gold" release is coming out soon, so I'll start posting my results after that comes out. When it does, it will be a "final" version for 6+ months so the videos will remain relevant.

I have singles and doubles matchs of my Zelda. From a smashfest today and went all Zelda after I realized that I suck *** with Meta. =.

Thanks, I got sent into losers 1st round so it was just a climb back!

I do recall who I played though:

Knoxville 0-2 (Marth vs. Sheik)
I didn't feel comfy fighting a friend with Zelda. Especially with how smart his Marth is. I blew this set.

I did work! Even beat him at frigate.

I put the 70/30 to show how much each was used in this set. Falco is obnoxious, but Sheik handled this nuissance.

Gatò (Mario vs. Zelda + Pit vs. Sheik/Zelda 30/70)

Destroyed Mario 2-stock. Against pit though, he jumped ahead and I had to make a furious comeback which involved Sheik.

D-torr (Yoshi vs. Sheik/Zelda 70/30 + Lucario vs. Zelda) 2-0

I'm not too comfy in the Yoshi MU. Hence more Sheik. He countered me to C. Siege and I had a ball early but lost control only to end the match with a sweet Bair OOS when he used Dair.

Kyon (Peach vs. Zelda) 2-1

Kyon is too good. Beat me solidly in the first match. I counter to Brinstar and won on a DBZ moment where my Sweet Fair traded with his Fair. He died at 70! Dominated the final match but had trouble putting him away. Finally got him though.

GDX (Diddy vs. Zelda + Diddy vs. Sheik) 0-2

Inexperience showed on my end. Zelda came close and then I took him to Halberd with Sheik. Not too hot.

All and all, good stuff I think. I'll get the link when it's up and then I'll post in format. Posting from iPhone is tough lol!

No not yet. I plan on doing that all day today. So just hit me up on the Xat today.

Anyways I got back from a tourney like I said and did really well, despite it being a con. >_>

Try to record it in 640x480 resolution. This is the standard resolution of the Wii. If your recording device records at 720x480 for some reason (some do this), resize it to 640x480. Recording at any resolution higher then the ones mentioned is a bit pointless, since the Wii will not output in a higher resolution anyway.

What format does your recording device record in?

I can record under anything I like. It's just I didn't look at how I was recording them with and now its all screechy.

But I can redo all of that under 640x480. It comes up better that way anyways. :X

Depends. 640x480 is the highest you can realistically go without upscaling, so 640x480 is generally the best choice of resolution.

Just make sure it's encoded in a good format, like h264 and at a high bitrate.
