Overall Game Features:
Single Player Campaign
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MW3
Special Ops ModeThe game will immediately follow the events of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, where the Russian Federation continues its invasion of the United States of America, and has also expanded its offensive to Europe, including England, France and Germany. The game will see the return of Task Force 141 Captain John "Soap" MacTavish, former SAS Captain John Price and Russian informant Nikolai who are on the run after killing the rogue U.S. Army Lieutenant General Shepherd. Russian Ultranationalist Vladimir Makarov will also reprise as the game's primary antagonist.
Several new playable characters have been added, including Derek "Frost" Westbrook and Sandman, a pair of Delta Force operatives in New York City; Marcus Burns, a Sergeant in the Special Air Service fighting in London; and Yuri, a Russian federal security agent. Wallcroft from Call of Duty 4 will also return in the game.
New non-playable characters that have been confirmed so far include Truck and Grunt, who form part of the Delta Force fire team alongside Frost and Sandman. A Delta Force operative named Grinch was also announced (and will be voiced by Tobey Maguire)
Infinity Ward and Sledgehammer Games have revealed that Modern Warfare 3 will feature two modes: Mission mode (From MW2) and a new Survival mode.
Mission mode - Similar to the MW2 spec ops missions which features a variety of missions which contain different objectives. (i.e. Kill a certain number of enemies within a designated time limit, get from one point of the level to the other, defend an area from enemies for a set amount of time etc.)
Survival mode - A new mode featured in MW3 in which players must fend off waves of A.I. controlled on various MP maps. Each wave of enemies slowly become more difficult. Despite being much compared to the World at War Nazi Zombies mode, enemies do not spawn at fixed locations like the zombies do, but instead, at tactical positions based on the current location of the player. This mode will be available on all multiplayer maps in the game and players can earn "cash" for to unlock items such as weapons, upgrades and ammo.

MW3's multiplayer was revealed to the public during the Call of Duty XP event on September 2nd and 3rd, 2011. Attendees were able to get their hands on multiplayer gameplay two months before the game's release.
MW3 will contain previous game modes from the other CoD games (i.e. Team Deathmatch, FFA, Domination, Search and Destroy etc.) and new ones.
Some of the new game modes being introduced in MW3:
Kill confirmed - Requires players to collect floating dog tags from the corpse of a downed enemy before the kill can be registered. (However, the opposing team can pick up the dog tag as well to deny the other team of a kill.)
Team Defender - Both teams must try to cap a flag dropped by the first person who gets killed when the match starts, and hold it to accumulate points as long as possible.
Infinity Ward and Sledgehammer Games have also recently revealed that they have revamped the entire killstreak reward system. There are now 3 different "strike packages" for killstreaks called: Assault, Support, and Specialist.Private matches also now include pre-made game modes including:
Infection - Where one random player is chosen as the "infected" and must kill enemies who are then "recruited" to their team.
Drop Zone - Where the player must hold a drop zone for points and care packages.
Team Juggernaut - Each team plays alongside an AI Juggernaut character.
Gun Game - Be the first player to get one kill with every gun in the game. Each kill cycles you to a different weapon and you work your way up.
One in the Chamber - Players are only allowed a pistol with only one bullet in the clip/magazine and three lives where they can only get more bullets by killing other players.
Along with this, players are allowed to create their own game modes with customized settings such as number of players and time limit and upload them for other players to download and play.
The Assault strike package works the same as the default killstreak reward system in Modern Warfare 2 and Black Ops offering offensive killstreaks like the predator drone and helicopters.
The Support strike package offers support-style rewards such as UAVs and SAM Turrets. Unlike previous games in the franchise, the support strike package will not make the player's killstreak reward reset upon death, but instead, accumulate over the course of a match. (i.e. Killing enemies, capturing flags etc.)
The Specialist strike package rewards players with perks instead of killstreaks. You get a new perk every two kills and after eight in a row, the player will receive every perk (All 14 perks except the overkill one.) in the game, but will reset back to none upon death.
Other MP info:
- Each prestige is now 80 levels and you can prestige 10 times.
- Weapon proficiencies have been added which allow for additional class and weapon customization. (i.e. Kick = reduced recoil, focus = reduced flinch when shot etc.)
- Each weapon now has it's own individual rank (weapon level) and in order to level up, the player needs to use its attachments, proficiencies and challenges.
- Camouflage can now be applied to secondary weapons.
- Players have the ability to scroll pointstreak rewards.
- Players' pointstreaks reset after their third pointstreak has been reached. (No need to die to start it over again.)
- Online split-screen is making a return from Black Ops in MW3.
- Theatre mode from Black Ops will be returning. (Improvements have been made.)
Perks:
Perks are once again in 3 Slots and will all be unlocked at different levels. (Pro Variants are listed in the brackets.)

(i.e. When their screen is flashing red.) (Pro version: On top of explosive damage, gunfire damage will also paint your enemies on the mini-map for the full duration of their injuries.)
Extreme Conditioning - Allows you to sprint for longer distances. (Not infinite like in MW2/Black Ops.) (Pro version: Climb obstacles faster.)

Sleight of Hand - Faster reloading. (Pro version: Switch between weapons faster.)
Scavenger - Allows you to resupply ammo from dead enemies and teammates. (Pro version: Allows you to resupply ammo and explosives from enemies.)

Tier 3:
Stalker - Faster movement while ADSing. (Pro version: Delayed enemy claymores explosion/detonation.)

F.A.Qs:
Q: How long is the single player campaign?
A: About 6-7 hours on normal difficulty.
Q: Was there a public multiplayer beta?
A: No. Infinity Ward did perform an internal beta like they previously did with MW2.
Q: Does this game have online split-screen multiplayer?
A: Yes. You can either sign into a guest or another Xbox LIVE gold member account. For PS3 players, you can only sign into a guest account for the second player. All stats/ranks/progression are lost when the guest is signed out for both systems.
Q: Are there Xbox LIVE party chat restrictions again?
A: Yes, but only for the core/hardcore SnD playlists.
Q: Are there searching options in online multiplayer? (i.e. globally and locally.)
A: Yes.
Q: Is there a co-op campaign in MW3?
A: No.
Please note that you do not need a paid CoD Elite subscription to play the game online or to purchase the DLC/map packs. Most of Elite's features will be free (i.e. stat tracking, videos, heat maps etc.) but a some will require you to pay to access them. It will cost $49.99 a year.
Note: All credit goes to their respected owner(s), I do not take any credit for any of the above information/images/videos etc. This thread is a work in progress and will be updated on a frequent basis.
