Just wondering what everyone's out-of-shield preferences are.

My personal favorites are Nair oos, DIing toward them for a possible follow-up, or away if I want to pew pew pew.
Dair at higher percents, and Up smash OOS for obvious reasons.

Sometimes, I'll just drop it and go for a DJC.

What do you guys feel is the most effective? :)

I feel this is better to be asked in the Q&A thread, but w/e.

Ftilt OoS isn't to bad tbh if you don't wanna stale your Usmash.

You could taunt out of shield. Then fox will just call down a landmaster >.> thats his real oos game.

Yeah but you literally have to be RIGHT next to him.

F-tilt, D-tilt, and even U-tilt, are decent options. Depending where your opponent is.
cause d-tilt is such a great move out of shield.

seriously, only good moves are ones you can cancel the shield with.
so up-smash, shine, and maybe a few others are all ya need to know.

dropping the shield then using a very slow move is seriously not that good of an idea guys.

Someone correct me with some sound logic if I'm wrong, but I don't think Dtilt should EVER be used, OoS or not. (Unless you're trying to refresh your moves and don't want to stale your blaster or shine for some reason)

My favorite OoS moves are Fullhop/Shorthop Nair and Usmash.

I prefer to DI my Nair slightly towards them for a few frames and then away if I'm not fairly certain that they can't powershield the hit or something. If they powershield the hit I just double jump away from them.

DI'ing behind them (behind their shield) also works better in situations that I know that I can land a hit so I have more followup options or even just to mix things up. Or if I'm feeling like playing an aggro style fox (which is more fun to play, but costs dearly sometimes).

I would go with the OoS grab, pummel them 2~3 (depends on their %) and would then Dthrow them for a follow up SH Fair, If its a character that has a direct option after my Dthrow, I would just fake my attempt for a SH fair and would just Usmash, SH Nair or I would SH Dair to regrab them again.

On heavy characters I think that option is the best. Its save to do a OoS grab to Dthrow and then a SH Fair. After you have done it, there are a lot of follow ups to do after. Racks up dmg pretty quick.

To be honest, one of the smartest things to do is to simply jump out of shield and escape from close range ****.

On Halloween last year I went Chipotle hopping with some of MD/VA's best players, Candy, Korn. Boss and ESOJ. After we got our 3 burritos for free =3 We went back to Candy's house and at burritos and played smash all night. I forgot to mention, before going to Chipotle we, we were at Chu Dat's house at a tourney. =3 So much smash that day.

So anyways, at Candy's house we were playing 1v1s around 4 am, and Candy and Boss were stressing the concept of NOT rolling ever.

Rolling for Fox is TERRIBLE and should be never done. Candy showed me how Snake's Forward Tilt ***** the **** out of Fox. If you roll at Snake or away from Snake you are essentially giving your stock to him.

I asked em what should I do then instead of rolling to escape terrible situations, and what was the answer? Simply jump out of shield and escape.

Fox is jump and double jump out of shield is so good because it's ridiculously fast. The second you are hit jump out of shield, and then jump again to avoid any attacks thrown at you once your opponent sees you have jumped out of your shield.

wow thats so simple yet so good, I always stressed that you should never roll with fox because shad is much better, but thats from an agressive approach point of view, I never thought about it defensivly like that.

Come on guys. everyone ever knows that the best thing to do out of shield is magically switch to MK. in fact, that is what you shoud do for every move, in fact just main MK and take fox out of the picture. (heard as hes walking away, "i ******* hate metaknight..... sonuva.... dair gimping ******) };~D

thats true however you can do any aerial OOS, nair is the best option out of the aerials.shine is alot more situational as you have to be right next to the opponent, your more likely to use sheild grab in most cases.

Yea that's why I said rising.
ah, i missed that :/ lol

if marth isnt careful against our shield he can be killed pretty easily, we just need to be able to identify these chances in games.

OOS upsmash FTW!

Ike isn't gay he fights for his friends. :bee:
I don't know of any male swordsman in brawl outside of them then, since Marth is actually a female name, personally I thought she looks kinda hot in brawl, of course its weird because marth is a guy in Fire emblem but not in brawl, I never understood why........
