I think we don't realize that it's just something Duke players are doing and they happened to decide to tell Smashboards about it and open it to everyone else.

We are not 100% of the player base for it and it won't start/stop because of us.

So I don't see why we're talking about it!

We go to these biweeklies when we can, Billfests happen whenever the hosts think is a good idea (be it on the same date as one of these or not), and people attend what they want. More options has never been bad, and in the very worst case scenario Duke won't have a single out-of-school player on some days, which isn't that bad.

These biweeklies don't take a monopoly on the weeks and Billfests are welcome to be placed at higher priority if they are ever on the same day.

I understand your point but I still disagree. TO's should work together for the betterment of the scene as a whole. I edited my last post with more comments btw.

If even a single person attends one tournament instead of the other, and a ride could have easily been arranged, then the tournament scene is divided and both tournaments and all players involved suffer comparitively.

I'm very confused as to why your first statement ended with a question mark. In fact your whole last post was difficult to follow. Never the less, I think that the addition of a biweekly scene is wonderful even if it only supports one game but as I said before one TO should not be able to monopolize every other weekend and should therefore be at least somewhat flexible with scheduling if they plan to run bi-weeklies. If omni where to schedule his next event the same day as foxy's he would be expected to reschedule right? I don't see how this is any different and since bi-weeklies, as we have discussed should not take priority over other events, it can only be expected that the TO running the bi-weekly be expected to follow common courtesy and re-schedule so as not to detract attendance from the other event.

We all want the scene to grow; we have the same goal, but it has and should remain common courtesy for TO's to work with each other to avoid scheduling conflicts and since a bi-weekly happens every other week its only far that the TO holding such a series should be willing to be flexible since they already run such a large chunk of tournaments.

Alright, I'll rephrase:

Duke can't ride anywhere. If we all go to Billfest or whatever when there is a bi-weekly, then they can still get their practice at Duke since they can't go anyway.

Anyway, it seems like this tournament might not get attended too frequently since we'll either 1. not be ready for the date or 2. have something else scheduled on this day anyway(I don't think DJRome cares too much if we go or not, but he is giving us the option to go).

Either way with the exception of your last comment I understand what your saying and to a certain extent I agree. The main reason I don't agree entirely is that a ride should never be an issue. Duke is 15-20 from chapel hill and just as close to Raleigh and there are several players here who are more than willing to give rides 90% of the time. You make a valid point but I still don't think any players should be split between tournaments when rides could simply be arranged and players could then get even better.

If you guys wanna give rides, let us know. Of course, I only speak for myself/don't take my opinions as other Duke opinions. Mainly because several of the players here play good melee but don't want to take the time to travel to another town to play when we don't all have reliable transportation. I think that's what's going on.
