Ah, I've just been programmed to try for the Dair to Usmash/Uair.

Normal getup to Bthrow or something similar sounds more sensible, thanks.

-Whistle (DownB)-
Frames 2-16: Super Armor
Frame 12: Pikmin are called
FAF: Frame 21

So this was in your frame data thread. And i just want to make sure...

So that means there's a 6 frame window to hit you with a move w/o you being able to superarmor it with a buffer whistle after the first?

Actually, I labeled everything weird. The frame ranges are inclusive.
It's more like:

1 - Vulnerable
2 - Super Armor
3 - Super Armor
4 - Super Armor
5 - Super Armor
6 - Super Armor
7 - Super Armor
8 - Super Armor
9 - Super Armor
10 - Super Armor
11 - Super Armor
12 - Super Armor
13 - Super Armor
14 - Super Armor
15 - Super Armor
16 - Super Armor
17 - Vulnerable
18 - Vulnerable
19 - Vulnerable
20 - Vulnerable
21 - Can take action

So really just 5 frames.

So broken, you couldn't even fix it with a veterinarian covered in duct tape and glue. ;)

Only the first hit of a latched pikmin counts toward refreshing.
If you tossed one on someone and it hit five times, it would only add one "pikmin toss" to the stale move queue (if that makes sense).

Also, latching on to the opponent doesn't count either, if the pikmin is knocked off before its able to hit him (18 frames after the latch).

When you do a move with a certain colored pikmin (say, yellow usmash), will usmashes with all other pikmin be affected, stale wise? Or just yellow usmash

Logically predicted based on situation and repetition. To telegraph your opponent is to constantly predict his individual moves.

I was under the impression that to "telegraph" is to give advance notice of a move.
For example, Ike's Fsmash is incredibly telegraphed. He pulls his sword back with an obvious, easily-recognized animation that tells you what is about to happen.

Another one: Do you guys consider True Pivot useful for Olimar? What useful could we do with it?

True Pivot as in things like Pivot Grabbing? If so, then HYESZ. It is amazing.

yeah pivot grabbing. But I didn't mean that.

Just at the first ten seconds, Ramin is abusing this already two times. I never saw an Olimar doing this true pivot things. But we are playing a ground oriented character, does not might make that Olimar faster? Set up for baits?

Not even sure how I came across this, but this is the best response to the MK ban I've seen thus far. Fino, you may be a total troll, but you're also a really cool guy with some good **** to say.

I took too many amphetamines today and decided to write out my thoughts/discoveries/ideas about olimar post apex.

single-spaced, 12pt font, it runs about 12 pages long....

should I just make one thread or spread out the main ideas into different threads?

One thread, multiple posts if necessary.

Much cleaner.

In the rain.
Is it possible for Oli to whistle (ie whistle properly so he doesn't take knockback) AND SDI the same move? Like, if he were offstage against an MK and he whistled a SL, would he be able to SDI closer to the stage as well?
Does the hitlag of a whistled move depend on the hitlag of the move itself? Or will Oli suffer the same hitlag regardless of whether he gets hit by an MK dair or a Falcon knee?

Also, say Oli's Pikmin order is the following. BYRYBP. If he sideBs the first blue, and does some moves in between, is it possible that after the blue comes back, his Pikmin order is now YRBYBP?
In other words, is it possible for Pikmin to change location with respect to one another in the line? Is that how Oli's sideB works? Or do Pikmin 'memorize' their correct location in the line and move to that spot when they come back after a sideB?

Hit lag varies between moves he whistles, I think. idk about the rest. Correct me if I'm wrong, guys.

It is possible and quite likely. A pickman that returns to olimar take the last place in the line in the order that they return. So if you side b a Blue then down smash the Yellow and red in your example before the Blue returned, the new order would be YBPYRB, since the Yellow and Red return first.

This also happens any time pickman desync from Olimar (such as their drowning animation or F-smash), but not while running away. Even if while running one color passes another, they do remember order. This tends to cause problems with pickman not coming out when you attack as well.

Make sense?

good places to CP ice climbers?
All stages with permanent platforms are acceptable choices. Not having that attribute is too risky. All that matters past that is just personal preference.

Also, ya'll scheming way to much with that Pikmin stuff....

sometimes when I play Olimar, I like to pretend...

that we have conversations with each other on how to beat the opponent.
