Well, now. I think I'll take a look at that. The first post will be up to date shortly.

Edit: I think that's compelling evidence that a tournament shouldn't use smashballs. I mean, every KO in the second game was a Final smash. Thats just dumb. I have respect for T!mmy, don't get me wrong. But that was not a display of comboing/KO power of either kirby or ness. That was a demonstration of how final smashes turn a game of smash into a race to get an item that spawns in a random location.

The problem lies in having JUST Smash Balls on, I think. Even with items set on low, if only one sort of item can spawn, that item is going to spawn frequently. If there were a wider variety of items enabled, but they were still on low, then Smash Balls would appear much less often.

I think that's the only way of Smash Balls being allowed

Even with reduced frequency, a smash ball appearing means that its a race to the ball, because getting one means a KO. Racing to an item for a KO is just absurd, it means that the game's outcome is much more randomly determined, especially in a three stock match. I wouldn't want to go to a tournament and lose to someone close to my skill level but a little worse because he beat me to a smash ball for a gimp when he was about to die on his last stock.

Try jumping off the edge of the stage into the magnifier, and then using it.

Somebody told me that makes it blanket the whole stage better, depending on where you play, and it'd be neat to have confirmation.
Well, when I used Ness' Final Smash in the air I believe he slowly fell downward, and I'm not sure what my recovery options were afterwards...I think I died. :)

That doesn't mean it happens like that every time but that's how it happened to me.

Sooo.... That vid proves jungle japes is going to be banned in brawl. T.T

Here's hoping that we can recreate it in custom stages.

Nesses back throw is still a great kill move. Everyone lives to higher percents now, it really hasnt been nerfed much at all.

The Ness vs Wolf vid is great. Need more @_@! I was impressed in the way the yoyo can be used. Wolf was rising from the ground and Usmash brought him up and then above Ness in such a fluid manner. Excited about using U/Dsmash now! Especially hitting them with it facing backwards ~_~!

Full jumping seems useful too. Ness seems like he can turn on the pressure when he's in the air because of the offensive/defensive excellence of fairs, especially being able to DI it out of range of shield grabs.

Aerial PK fires, and dairs seem useful too. Dairs = no lag :O??. Spammable/Comboable? Anyways, I think fairs coming down to PK fire is a nice lure, because the Wolf in the vid expected to get Ness in the fair lag but got a burnt face. Anddd I don't know what it's called.. I do it all the time but DJing the other way?... well anyway, jumping away from your opponent and then DJing back towards them with an immediate PK fire seems tough to predict. Nice fake out if you're mixing up your aerial approach/defense in the first place as well as your pressuring. First play in their face.. jump away as if to retreat and then come back with fire. FUN

Oh and PK Thunder... I don't know how many people favor Ness' over Lucas' or vice versa, but Ness' seems better, or at least safer. One strong hit, over and done with.. I'd worry about being vulnerable in Lucas' Thunder because it can hang out. Plus, Thunder lasts longer than an airdodge, so it's safe in that sense too.

I'm a very casual player, so I might be a waste, I usually lurk, but eh I'm very bored and just thought I'd point those out because they surprised me even just by watching it.

Don't discount your opinion just like that. I mean, anyone could nitpick and find issues with those ideas, but most of us are speculating right now. Ademisk's told me that the Dairs do actually have startup lag, but I'm gonna try my hand today, and I'll let you guys know how it goes.

Edit: PS, these games are all about having fun. What level of play you're at doesn't matter, as long as you can have fun with the game.

Good stuff. I'm gonna update with those vids in a little bit, after I regain the sanity I just lost by seeing so many vids in one post.

Has anyone found any footage of Ness reflecting a projectile with his bat?

Ok, I'll check through and remove any links that are now broken. Thanks for the heads-up.

Edit: broken links should be removed, now. If anyone sees any more, just point them out and I'll fix them promptly.
