I remember the popular argument agaisnt sonic was all he can do is spin. Also it's not like sakurai is against using his creative license, all captain falcon does is drive and it took 3 installments before that was referenced in his moveset.

Bomberman has many different types of bombs with different effects so if they do make a bomb only moveset it has the potential to not be stale. In addition to his bombs he has various power ups and charabombs

Except Sonic has Sonic the Fighters and Sonic Battle as a repertoire of abilities other than Dream Mix TV World Fighters, what other fighting games does Bomberman have?

Irrelevant. Every single character in Smash sans Snake, Sonic, and Link have never been in a fighting game outside of Smash.

John, it wasn't as much needed, cause Toon Link was a lot more accepted. Keep in mind everyone wanted him in uniquely though.

@john
this time he wasn't in the wrong, his post wasn't anything that warranted a negative response.

@LC
What can falcon do, based solely on his canon games?

All of my favorites (Madame puff, Omega, Iblis and y. toonlink) don't post here currently, sadly

But that don't matter as I still got asage, Poppy, Golden, yani, Johnknight and Tri-hy (hey, you actually got a mention now ;))

I'm still obeying my own rule of No Talking About Impa Week(s), but I'm still the goon of the thread. Well, gotta live up to my role then...

John, it wasn't as much needed, cause Toon Link was a lot more accepted. Keep in mind everyone wanted him in uniquely though.
Early on I did post too much about Toon Link. I admit that. But after the first two months here, most of my posts on him were when he was the subject, or in his thread. Most people who posted about Toon Link went after him, and 75% of them would snap at me for raising points, whether they were right, wrong, or based on opinion. Once I said Twilight Princess had some cel-shaded graphics part several people went after me like an idiot. Then I posted a video of clear cel-shaded graphics in the game, and they acted like they saw nothing, ignored that I was right, or continued talking about how stupid I was for supporting Toon Link. Most people either didn't consider what I was saying or thought I was an idiot. But you know what=??? I was sure as heck was right, and I kept with it. I also rarely complained.

Nobody has done any of that crap to you so far on this thread. We are just sick and tired of hearing Impa every other post by you. Calm it down. When you brought up Diddy Kong pre-Brawl, you brought it up when it was the subject of debate/the topic/on the appropriate thread, or occasionally when a thread's discussion was dead. Why can't you just go back to doing that with Impa=???

You also try doing the same "haters gonna hate" approach nearly every time. Try approaching different angles (her move set, her stage, her importance to the series, what new she could bring) instead of acting like we are all out to get you all the time. Fortunately you have somewhat come around to this. I will definitely give you that.

Again Diddy, most of us like you, but when you go on Impa rants all the time, you become unbearable. It's like having a friend who is totally fun, funny, cool, calm, and smart, but mentions how his girlfriend picks his nose every other sentence. :chuckle: All of those positive qualities seem to disappear in the background! :laugh: I hope this week/weeks without Impa has revealed some of that.
@john
this time he wasn't in the wrong, his post wasn't anything that warranted a negative response.
Who are you referring to=??? I want to know so I know how to respond to this... :bee:

I was only kidding :laugh:

The only people I like on here is Kuma, Poppy, SSBF, and Metal. Oh, and Yani. Not that it matters, but yeah. Star scares me, Diddy's not on my favorites list at the moment, and Oasis...
...
...
...Anyways...

Funny. My idea for a Goron AT involved the Goron Hug. :laugh:

I get no mention from asage...(probably because I support Zoroark over Victini.)

But it's nice that I got a mention from Metal. Thanks, Metal!

Touché, I won't speak on the Bomberman matter negatively any further.

Also Diddy I expected more of a clown nose to go with that goon thing. :p

You would get a mention from me. Heck in the past two or so months it seems you are the person I am responding to most of the time! :laugh:
John I was talking about Diddy
I admit he has gotten much, much, much better about Impa and when and when not to bring her up. I think his blog is a good thing for him. It allows him to post all about Impa without going crazy on everyone here. I had a pre-Brawl blog to go crazy about "Wind Waker Link." Asage has a blog for all his Victini craze, and although he likes to post all of his new Victini stuff (which makes him come across as very energetic and devoted) on here pretty often, and it rarely comes across as annoying IMO.

Again, I relate to it, and Diddy Kong has gotten better about when and when not to mention Impa. I just don't think he fully realizes how it has negatively effected this thread. I think what I posted in my last post really sums all of this up. I like Diddy Kong, and he's on my friend's list, but not when he's in "all Impa, all the time" mode. Or when he says Brawl is better than Melee... :troll:

M. Bison: YESSSSS!!!! YESSSSS!!!!

But here's another question: Who here thinks that we SHOULD get (and that we all want) a Tetris stage in the next smash bros game=??? :awesome:

Seriously, who in the heck in the holy name of Solid Snake's razzy azzy thinks a Tetris stage would be a bad idea=???

Nope. :troll:

But in seriousness, a Tetris stage would be great. (Maybe a Tetrominoe as a playable character too? :awesome:)

@John: Thanks. I know we didn't get off on the right foot at first, but I'm glad things turned out for the better.

I see a lot of requests for a Tetris stage. If Brawl could, graciously, get a couple of Tetris tracks I could not imagine why Sakurai could not work out a way for a Tetris stage, legally speaking. Just my two cents.

Would certainly be a good surprise. Especially if we can get Kalinka.

That's because I accidentally deleted most of three posts (apparently I had pushed that key that deletes everything in front of what you type) and I thought you were ignoring the majority of my posts while responding to me. When I realized I did that, I was like "woaw, I looked like a d***" without what I had deleted. :laugh: :chuckle: :awesome: :reverse: :bee:
(it was the "funny" part and the "proof" of whatever we were debating)

@ Starphoenix
Putting in a Tetris stage would be a good promotion for Tetris. Really if Sakurai can get the music, he can get a stage. ;)

By the way, you ran out of block space Star. GAME OVER!!!! *dun dun duh nuh nuh nuh dun nuh nuh nuh nuh duh!*

To be honest I don't think Tetris really needs promotion. It's Tetris. As far as I know though Nintendo has actually developed a Tetris game before. Tetris DS, I believe, was actually a Nintendo developed title.

True, but extra exposure and advertisement never hurt anyone. Except the Beatles on one of their singles that was played so much on the radio that it barely went #1 on the Billboard charts. :troll:

And yes Nintendo has developed Tetris games before. That's why getting access to Tetris stuff wouldn't be hard for Nintendo to do at all. The problem with a Tetris stage is how much money it would cost Nintendo. :smirk:

That is pretty much the only issue Nintendo could run into with the possibility of a Tetris stage in smash. :cool:

Would it really though? That is what I wonder.

I want to hold a stage poll or something.

Yes, stage poll!

Endless Ocean should be on the Smaller franchise list! Also, would you name specific areas for new levels, or something like:

"Super Mario Galaxy Stage" instead of "Good Egg Galaxy"

I would list specific places. What I may also do is kickstart the "Rate The Stages Chances" threads over at Gamefaqs. Whomever was doing it stoppes, but there are still a lot of stages left to be voted on.

Oh I'm going to make one. I am just going to do it when I am not working on papers for classes. Like I am doing now... Slowly...

Might get around to it later tonight or tomorrow. Maybe.

So, by a show of virtual hands, who all presently believes we shall receive a Tetris stage in the next game?
I can see it happening, but my concern is how do you make a Tetris stage that is not only faithful to the game, but not designed where it changes the gameplay drastically (i.e. Wario Ware, Mario Bros.) or causes a severe imbalance (Mushroomy Kingdom 1-2).

What's wrong with stages like that? I know you guys are the competitive scene and all, but those stages are fun. Warioware especially. I know they're harder to play on, but we need some of those like we need a few flat, basic competitive play stages.

Besides, Tetris lends itself to that kind of silly yet intense atmosphere. I imagine a stage where giant Tetris blocks fall (quite) slowly from above, and the players have to climb the tower as it is built/lines are cleared. There would have to be a way to make incidents of getting trapped in gaps low...

For one I think the pieces would come down at a reasonable pace. Secondly it would probably be a set pattern that could be learned after a couple of playthroughs. My idea, though I do not know if I put this in my stage concept, was the Tetris blocks go through a set cycle for two minutes. After which the field will clear itself by completing a "Tetris" thus resetting the cycle. Plus I cannot see there being walls so it would not be as suffocating as other ideas I've seen.

Hmm, but there's Tetris Company owning Tetris now, which can hinder the chances of a stage, too.

:phone:
Obviously they were gracious enough to allow Sakurai to use two tracks in Brawl.

So none will care if I left?

*Sees that he didn't contribute much to the topic during last autumn*

I see it now...

@GiantBreadbug
The problem with those kind of stages is that they change the way the very game is played, more so than removing items or whatever. You might as well make them minigames (that's actually not a bad idea) instead of making them fighting stages. The focus should be on fighting the opponent, not so much fighting the stage.

@StarPhoenix
I got an interesting idea.

First, you've got a flat stage ala Smashville and Final Destination. Bear with me on this one. The tetris piece fall down randomly, but these act like the Battlefield platforms - you can go through them. These fall in the middle of the stage and will randomly line up on the ground's stage. When a row fills up, that part of the platform pieces disappear.

Here are the pieces for reference. You can't go through anything taller than one block.

Here are the pieces for reference. You can't go through anything taller than one block.
Umm that is pretty much my stage concept already... The only difference is I have the pieces descend in a set pattern that can be learned by players. It is kind of like a check to balance out the stage.

A tetris stage would be perfect for the Wii U. :O

Imagine one person plays Tetris on the Wii U tablet while the other 4 players play on the stage which is affected by the tablet-user's performance.

That brings up a whole different discussion. What kind of function could the Wii U tablet utilize in matches beyond just control?
