jiggs is the best way to go from brawl to melee. i think it's 'cause jiggs is a spacing/zoning type of character and brawl is ALL spacing/zoning

falco is also a good choice. actually, fox is the best choice to go from brawl to melee.
idc whether it's on marth 7th or april whatever.
