Ulgamoth can be a huge ***** in the sun if you lack SR. It's one of those Pokemon that isn't TOO threatening but if your opponent sends it in at the right time it can pretty much lead to a swift gg.

holy hell this set is so weird but this thread deserves a bump anyway, so...

Dotekkotsu @ Evolution Stone
252 HP/96 Atk/160 SpDef (arbitrary, could maybe use more spdef, but this seems like a good mix)
Adamant / Guts

Bulk Up
Drain Punch
Mach Punch
Payback/Earthquake/Stone Edge

Payback is the better attack here, since he isn't aiming to KO, just to set up as much as he can and be a pain in the *** hitting stuff. Here's a log with some crazy calcs. Granted, the guy's team sucked, but this still shows off just how ridiculously specially bulky it is. It hits 374 hp/309 def/264 spdef before setup, and though its attack is a bit lacking, that's the point of the set, since roob's big weakness is that he can't always survive to hit back against things. Here's a log that shows his bulk and awesomeness:

I was thinking about this but I wasn't sure what I should do. I have a Meganium who knows Sunny Day to stack with Blaziken's fire type moves. This gives me a reason to drop Rain Dance for Manectric since her special attack is already ridiculously high. It's hard finding a decent moveset for Manectric since it doesn't have a large move pool to learn from. (Grassknot would have be the one I would like to use)

However, I thought about it for a bit and thought that maybe if I teach it magnet rise, that would be the best thing for it since it would avoid all ground types. What would recommend for a fourth move? If this works, she will have Thunderbolt, Overheat and Magnet Rise.

I'm hoping to find a good special steel move for her that does damage. (A counter to ground since a good amount has rock as another type.) Another option is volt switch. What do you guys think of it learning magnet rise? Good idea or bad idea?

If you were up for breeding, I'd suggest going for Hidden Power Grass, and using Flamethrower instead of Overheat, since without that hidden power he has no good moves to hit ground types with. If you can't breed you're basically stuck hitting ground types with Toxic, since nothing else is gonna give good damage output, and most ground types dislike poison. A good 4th move would be volt switch, since manectric is still going to be hit hard by any physical attack, not just Earthquakes, so giving it a way to deal damage and get out of there is a good thing. If you paired it up with rain, you could run Thunder over Thunderbolt. If you felt like going the extra mile and breeding moves onto it as well, you can breed Switcheroo onto it and you can give it a Choice item to mess up some stuff by switching items onto them.

All in all it should look like this:

Manectric @ Life Orb/Choice Specs
252 SpAtk/252 Spe
Timid(Modest) / Lightningrod

Thunderbolt
Flamethrower
Hidden Power Grass/Toxic
Volt Switch/Switcheroo

Hey guys, question about Braviary;

His DW ability, Defiant, says his Attack is raised two stages when his stats are lowered.

If I'm using Superpower, does Braviary get *2* boosts to attack, or does it only count once?

I have an idea for Braviary on a Trick Room team, as his speed isn't very high, but his HP and Attack are decent. Here's what I was looking at (feel free to advise me as you see fit)

Braviary @ Choiceband/Life Orb/Leftovers?
Nature: Brave (hurr hurr)
EV: 252 Hp 252 Att 4 Def (can move around, but I'd like Att maxed)
Ability: Defiant (obviously DW setup)
-Brave Bird/Aerial Ace
-Superpower
-Shadow Claw/Uturn
-Rockslide/Uturn

Uturn isn't needed, but I've always liked having an option of GTFOing. The idea is that he'd be a sweeper, coming in off of a trick room. Since his speed is less than a lot of pokes (to my knowledge), he'd be a great fit. The Superpower is there for a great attack, plus attack boost. This obviously lowers my Def too, but that's why I'm hoping he'd come in and sweep. Stealth Rock is a problem. Rockslide/ShadowClaw for type coverage.

I've been out of the competitive scene for a while, but I just really like the potential this guy offers. Thanks for any and all feedback.

A lot of things that get competitive spirit would really like to be able to get boosts from self-inflicted drops. :(

but yeah, no dice. It would've borderline broken infernape and primeape, who would get a +4 boost from using Close Combat and is also fast enough to sweep with it. ;P

Poor Braviary.. His stand-out qualities are still Bulk Up and Tailwind. Which aren't bad at all though.

What do we think about:

Tyranitar @ Leftovers
Careful
252 HP/52 Atk/200 Spd (Warning: probably inefficient! Help wanted.)
Dragon Tail
Crunch
Thunder Wave
Substitute/Rest/Coverage move

Of course, this would be at its full effectiveness with entry hazards! Surprise paralysis spreading is surprising, too.

That set isn't bad, but there's just no real reason to use it over standard Tyraniboah. Since you don't have Focus Punch, Flamethrower, or Ice Beam, a lot of TTar's counters can come in on him and not worry about having to deal with him, assuming they aren't afraid of paralysis (many aren't, including Conkeldurr, Excadrill, Gliscor, Garchomp, etc.). Paralysis moves also seem pointless with Dragon Tail since you'll always have that negative priority. Frankly, Dragon Tail doesn't seem that necessary since Boah forces enough switches on his own.

I think that would be better optimized by running Substitute/Thunder Wave/Ice Beam/Crunch, with the following set:

Tyranitar @ Leftovers
252 HP/24 Spe/60 SpAtk/172 SpDef(Atk)
Sassy / Sand Stream

Substitute
Thunder Wave
Ice Beam
Crunch/Dark Pulse

Even with no atk investment, you have a real shot at wearing down chansey/blissey in a final 1v1 scenario because of the defense drop chance and parahax enabling you to get the edge and recover more health. Ice Beam 1hkos 252 HP Gliscor and has decent power. If you wanted to you could run atk, taking it from spdef, but then it's just a boahtar running thunder wave over focus punch, and that isn't very useful, lol. Use its bulk to spread status. If you ran two special attacks, you could get away with running Calm and moving the speed EVs somewhere else.

Wigglytuff wants the elemental punches over Rest, Body Slam, and Mimic.

Kingler wants X-Scissor, Iron Defense, and Return somewhere in the moveset. It's up to you how you want to splice the moves in.

Pikachu wants Slam over Double Team.

The rest of the team looks solid.

I refuse to help you to desecrate a Kingler by teaching it such a terrible move.

To be fair, it's not like Typhlosion learns any good moves that aren't Eruption

I have Wigglytuff the way I do just to open up, Its purpose is pretty much to Sing, The rest is just fillers but also as a last resort. Mimic is really useful.

Kingler... Is Kingler.

And Im playing FireRed, and Im just playing threw the game, therefore, mass competitive combos and stuff are not needed.

I did however make a 7th to switch Wiggs outs for.

Blissey - ev'd in Hp defense and Sdefense
Toxic
Light Screen
Reflect
Minimize

I love it XD

I had an almost exact typhlosion set-up wrath, such a bad move pool for a starter :/
Also in black my gyra has surf/earthquake/t'bolt/ice fang such a good coverage can stop pretty much anything ingame wise, need a better ds to wi-fi battle though

I'd rather have fun trying to be original.
Like, yeah, some of the ones commonly used are ones that I might use. But I really do wish more people had more originality.

But to who his own I suppose

Wigglytuff gets Tbolt, ice beam, and fire blast/flamethrower, why botherwith elemental punches when the beams are TMs and play off of her slightly higher Sp. attack and have more base power.

so just sayin...

If your playing Red,Blue or Yellow, Toxic + Wrap = ****

It just does 5 straight turns of toxic damage, aka increasing poison and 5 turns of wrap damage and they cant do anything...
